He was charged with assault, I don’t think I remember that happening with a player on player or ref. According to 247 he was #88 in the country, not sure if that was player or position

I don't think we had any prior interest and I'm not even finding him on 247 to think he was a recruit of any worth - certainly headed to Last Chance U with everything that led up to that moment as well.

Ha, nice transition. Funny thing about Blount - I can't think of a running back from Oregon who did better in the NFL. 6300 yards, 56 rushing TD's, three Superbowl rings... Maybe the ducks should retire his number.

After his 18 TD season for the Patriots someone wrote an article about how that was the best season by a RB in terms of contract:production and the closest to it was like Priest Holmes first breakout season with the Chiefs.

I'd wager his career earnings:production would show he got hurt by punching Byron Hout far more than what Joe Mixon, Jeffrey Simmons and many others did.

Snoop maybe the other Duck running back with comparable NFL career in recent history...

Maybe I'm remembering incorrectly but Snoop didn't seem durable enough to be a lone feature back.

On the Blount v Stewart front, if anyone hasn’t seen this page of Oregon football alumni from ProFootballReference it’s pretty cool: https://www.pro-football-reference.com/ ... /index.htm

They have all of the stats and years played. Plus a point system called AV (average value) that tries to calculate the players value based on weighted production. They also have a Hall-of-Fame monitor that ranks the top-250 at each position.

Jonathan Stewart has the higher AV, but LGB is rated 11 spots higher in the HOF monitor: 156th to 167th. Statistically Stewart was a bit more valuable, but Blount achieved a little bit more. Very close.

Stewart: 7335 yards, 51 TDs, 4.3 YPC, 1295 receiving yards, 7 receiving TD. 58 total TD.

Blount: 6306 yards, 56 TDs, 4.2 YPC, 458 receiving yards, 2 receiving TD. 58 total TD.

Blount did get more games and production in the playoffs, with an additional 600 yards and 11 TDs while winning three Super Bowls. Stewart had 474 yards and 5 TDs in the playoffs. Two 1,000 yard seasons for Blount, one for Stewart. Both are just super talented and physically freakish RBs. Guys that big, that are that fast and strong and nimble are rare.

Interesting tidbit: Jonathan Stewart is the Pac-12 record holder for kick-off return average, at over 33 yards per return. Amazingly Blount got to return kicks early in his career, averaging a really good 29 yards per return one year, with a long of 29.
