This is awesome news! I'm completely supportive of the recruiting effort and I know it's hard. As others have stated, talented interior DL are difficult to find on the west coast. Here's to hoping we can land a big nasty in the interior this year too

The last good interior DL we had was DeFo and before that it was....... If we could pressure the QB more up the middle in this league, our defense will truly be a terror. Just my wishes and thoughts Again I don't want to come off as the kid who will never be satisfied... just saying.

Best wishes to this man and it's awesome news. Sounds like he plays on the ends, not the interior.

To be fair the scheme DP was running was just a disaster and people wanted to blame someone/something for it.... remember this guy named Ezekiel Elliot.... rip

Poking fun at an actual concern doesn't mean the problem doesn't exist.

There are only 2 4 star interior DL roster. Jayson Jones who was part-timing on the OL last season and Ware-Hudson. We'll add Keanu Williams but it will take time to develop even even these 4* players.

Now people know the answer to why we can't get enough pressure to the QB outside the one man KT show. Yes, we will hopefully develop some, but we can definitely do much better. Having depth and people on the depth chart doesn't solve all problems... just look at the RB position

Other than KT this is the first consensus 4-star+ DL recruit since Erik Chinander landed Bryson Young.

If come April, or whenever, we see JTT sign papers then I’ll quit complaining about the DL recruiting for at least 18 months.

I think our point has been made. I get the counter point that the Pac-12 footprint juts doesn't have that many talented interior DL recruits. The puppies up north had to do with 3 stars Vita Vea and Danny Shelton and they turned out ok. The issue is that we could try our hand with the "diamond in the rough" or "developmental" players and strike a few times, but our chances of winning on the big stage in the future against teams that are stacking future NFL rosters is low if we can't win the battle in the trenches.

Anyways, don't want to take away any bit from the amazing effort everyone put into this to land Halton - future is looking brighter.

For some reason, stars seem to mean a little less at Oregon. Particularly at DB and DL.

Usually threads like these don't get revisited unless there is a decommitment. Then, when the first word in the fist post in two months is 'Helton'...well, I admit my heart skipped a beat there for a second, thinking that USC may have stolen yet another recruit.

I never heard that from anyone. Garbage LB, yes. But I never saw anyone call those guys garbage. I guess a duckbil or cluelessduck would have, but they don’t count. I’ve always wondered how good Dye would have looked behind that DL.
