A one-time UW commit who decommitted once he got an Oregon offer and then committed to the Ducks once he visited. Must sting for Fusky fans.

I’m a casual fan and all I see is 3 stars and that leaves me underwhelmed. For someone who knows their stuff, how good is this kid? I know Oregon is desperate for DT’s, is this possibly a case of them just getting anyone they can get?

He picked up offers from Michigan and USC back in late February around the time that he decommitted from the Fuskies. That seems promising.

Recruiting will be weird this year, since most kids played so few games last year. I suspect we see lots of highly ranked kids do nothing in college, and some lower ranked kids look really good. Mells is a big body, which is hard to find out west. but has he improved from his So tape? It will be nice to see his Sr tape before deciding one way or the other.

I like it. There have been stellar lines out there that have been made of just 3 stars. Technique is coachable; size is not. I know this is bad language but the doggies up north have had multiple 3 star DL guys make it to the NFL.

He'll be a 4 star player by the time he signs. Just look at the offer list he put together in the last month. Probably would be already if it wasn't the the pandemic.
