Pervis Ellison B+ D+ D B B B (restricted to post)
Pervis has been at the top of our 1989 draft board for two years. Elite athleticism. Pervis still needs a bit work in the weight room. Better suited to play power forward but lacks speed getting back and forth the court. He can play in areas above the rim that most players can’t reach. Great rebounder. Good shot blocker. Great at scoring inside the paint. Good potential
Stacey King C+ D+ D B+ B+ B (restricted to post)
Excellent rim protector. Guards the defensive side well. His post up game is on point and he knows how to get to his spot and body up against the defender to create space. Well he doesn’t have the elite athleticism or his strength and basketball IQ makes up for it. Won’t give teams much on the offensive end. Good potential
Vlade Divac C+ C- C B C+ A
Defensively, he has the potential to become a great rim protector. Good mid range shooter and passer. Rebounds the ball well. Has a nice touch around the rim. Great hook shot. He has a nice shooting stroke and shows a lot of promise as a mid range scorer. He’s got the skills of a true post player but is also highly skilled from outside the paint. He’s a talented passer in half court sets. Amazing potential
Gary Leonard B- C C B B C
Ready now prospect. Scouts wonder if Leonard has any development left. Inside post player. Still too slow. Rebounds the ball well. Leonard is a force on the defensive end, where he alters and blocks a lot of shots, showing good timing, quick elevation and good shot blocking instincts. Solid potential
Doug Roth B D D C+ B C
Ready now big man who will be a liability on the defensive end. Fights inside the paint to get easy buckets. Can turnover the ball a bit in double team situations. Amazing rebounder. He also does a nice job of altering perimeter shots and has enough foot-speed to bother guards beyond the three point line. Limited potential
Reggie Cross C+ D F+ B+ B- C
Very good post defender with some defensive playmaking ability but it is just flashes. Wont be a reliable scorer. His calling will be a backup big who provides solid defense.
Torgeir Bryn C+ D+ F+ C+ C+ A
Small school prospect who needs a glow up in all areas of his game. His greatest strength is his strength. Bullies players and that worked at Texas State but in the DASL he will need to hone his craft offensively and defensively. The ability is there but can he maximize his potential?
