Looks like Oregon was hosting under-the-radar 2022 LB Camren Jackson out of GA. He's got a few lower D1 offers so he must be someone that Lanning saw down in GA and liked enough to bring out to Eugene for a visit.

Looks like he might have been a teammate of elite DL Christen Miller at some point. Wonder if this is a way to get Miller on board and add some LB depth.

I think that's the case. I just watched his Hudl and I wouldn't say he's an Oregon guy on his own.

Maybe Jackson can be a preferred walk-on, like with Jayson Jones and TJ Gilbert. Who joined the National Guard to help pay for school. Then Jones bounces back to Auburn.

But I think Jackson is a legitimate player. Maybe not an Oregon level recruit, but a scholarship guy somewhere. Had two sacks and a forced fumble in the state title game for them, and seemed to get more mention than his blue chip teammate in game reports. He lines up as a down defensive end, hand in the dirt and all. Although he’s 210 pounds. Really strong for his weight, and he has closing speed/burst - he’s an OLB edge guy in college. Awful technique and lack of leverage, he basically counts on driving guys back and escaping - which is actually a display of athleticism, he moving guys a lot bigger than him. Uses his back instead of his legs and hips, basically wrestles ball carriers to the ground with brute strength.
