You have to feel for the guy. He hasn't been political about his personal medical decisions at all - he just wants to play tennis, like always. He applied for exemption status from vaccination requirements before going to Australia, and was deemed exempt by two separate medical boards, so none of this has anything to do with his actual threat to contract or pass Covid on to anyone. He was awarded a visa and then he shows up to play and his case becomes a political football. He is accused of undermining the social fabric of the country and eventually unceremoniously deported. I will be interested to see what kind of excitement the media tries to gin up for an event that suddenly becomes pretty anti-climactic without him there to try and break the record. It will also be interesting to see if there is a challenge to the apparently all-powerful authority of the Australian Immigration Minister, who is able to make this decision despite the lack of a legal or scientific argument, bypassing the decisions of health officials and the courts.

Interesting article from an Australian journalist on the civil rights issues:

Haven't followed the details in this story, but if he was given a visa to enter Australia to play in the Open, the people should be mad at the officials and govt dept ppl who approved and gave him that visa and not Djokovic, unless he was being inaccurate and misleading in his application process.

The lack of human rights and decency that we are now seeing is ridiculous.

Kyrie Irving got shunned and disbarred from joining his teammates for half the season....when at one point, 10 of them all tested positive for Covid.

The negative PR Australia gets from this far outweighs any "benefit" they get from keeping out 1 unvaccinated person. Pretty crazy overall.

Yes, I'm less concerned THAT he was deported compared to WHY he was departed. The justification used by the Australian government (and confirmed by the court) should shake any human being to the core.

A man was removed from a country because the Minister of Transportation (or whatever the Aussie equivalent is) deemed that he posed a "risk to civil order" because of his mere presence in Australia.

Keep in mind, it wasn't because he was unvaccinated that he posed a "great risk to civil order". The Minister didn't make that argument because he knew it wouldn't stand the test of science which shows that you have better immune protection from natural immunity (compared to "vaccination"). In fact, Australia had granted him a medical exemption based on the fact that he had recently obtained natural immunity.

He was removed because him being unvaccinated would cause people to doubt the government's orders, essentially. Students of history will know that this current world we are living in is in big trouble. The writing is on the wall.

Germany late 1930’s. Doubt they even teach that stain on civilization in this government controlled school curriculum.

Some gems from one of the judges on the ruling to uphold the deportation of Novak:

“Mr Djokovic had for over a year chosen not to be vaccinated since vaccines became available,” Allsop pointed out. “It was plainly open to the Minister to infer that Mr Djokovic had chosen not to be vaccinated because he was opposed to vaccination.”

“there was no requirement upon the minister to afford Mr Djokovic natural justice”

Just wait until he tries to play in France or NY (see Kyrie) this summer! There goes three grand slam events for him! Who knows what England will do for Wimbledon!

Since England appears to bein the process of removing Covid strictures, possibly nothing will effect Wimbledon.

Everyone likes to point out Germany but there are many more. Stalins Russia to present day, Italy from the 30’s to late 60’s early 70’s if I remember right, Cuba, Venezuela goes from one of the richest and modernized countries to a 3ed world country within a decade, and many many more. All one party (person) rule. In almost all cases the propaganda was first pushed in the education system.

French open has already said he’s not welcome unless he gets vaccinated.

Fun to keep up with Djokovic. I've become a fan. Pretty amazing how he can keep winning Slams at his age on all surfaces. He just made the final at Wimbledon and plays on Sunday. If he wins, that's five Wimbledon titles in a row and he ties Federer's career Wimbledon record of 8 titles. A win would also leave him just one short of completing the calendar slam for 2023. I never thought that would be possible, but he is turning out to be the greatest tennis player of all-time, and he set all the records despite being shut out of events last year (Australian and U.S Opens) because he wouldn't take the shot. Amazing.

All athlestes should boycott playing in any country that does this, until they stop forcing a “vaccine” on them. Government officials would back down real quick if countries favorite athletes held out.

He's the best ever. But more impressive than all his accomplishments is his willingness to give up his lifelong dreams in order to remain true to his values (not being forced to take a vaccine) and in the face of worldwide contempt:
