The top ranked 2023 recruit has reclassified to the '22 class and has listed Oregon in his top 5. He'll supposedly be visiting over the next few months. He's from Milton, Georgia and UGA is in his top 5, so I'm going to assume the chances are bleak. However, this staff can recruit with the best of them. If they can get him to campus, you never know. I suspect he has an earlier chance of playing time at Oregon than any of the rest of his top 5 outside of perhaps Oklahoma.

I'd say priority-wise, it's always going to be school and academics, who's going to provide the best academic opportunities for him in business and engineering.

He's a 4.0 student apparently so it's plausible this is a top priority. The engineering interest isn't great for us, but our business program and academic support probably tilt this in favor of us relative to the rest of his top five unless he's dead-set on engineering.

Kinda reminds me about the Suh situation. Dead set on engineering so we were out.

Wonder how many of these teams saw him reclassifying to 2022 and saved room. Georgia, A&M, and Ohio State loaded up pretty heavily on DL/Edge guys this cycle.

I’d guess Texas A&M. He had just visited there before the reclassification. They might not have space but they’ll make space, and I’m sure next year’s recruiting budget can be fudged for this year and still end up on the ledger for 2023. But Georgia and Alabama can never be discounted.

Budget? Nonsense, Jimbo only gets guys that care about football! They don’t have a NIL budget or anything else like that! Clowns like Saban, Kiffin, and others do though, but not at A&M where they only get guys that love football!

aTm does offer the number one ranked degree in petroleum engineering, which is the most lucrative undergraduate degree there is. But I would be surprised if any scholarship football player has attempted it.

Lebbeus Overton and his brother, who was a freshman at Liberty U and is now at liberty in the transfer portal, are both visiting Oregon in March. Oregon is one of the finalists, along with Texas A&M, Georgia, and Oklahoma. The siblings are a package deal, and I’m impressed that Lanning has us in the final four. Overton wants to enroll in the spring - not sure how that will work if he’s going to a semester school, so Oregon’s quarter system might be helpful.
