Oregon @ Portland - Saturday 7 PM
First real test of the season. This, Missouri, and St. Mary's are the games in the way.
Let's see how we do.

The first road game of the year, no matter who it is, is probably the toughest game of the year since the team is so used to playing at home and they have to get a routine for the road that works for them.

It might be a close/hard fought game, but the ducks should win by at least 10. Their players are far superior to Portland.

I agree. But I just don't know what to expect with this team yet, so this is actually a really good test for the team.duckgrad99 wrote:It might be a close/hard fought game, but the ducks should win by at least 10. Their players are far superior to Portland.
Portland is a team that could slide into their tourney if they win their conference (projected #2 behind the zags).

will be a good confidence booster for the guys to win the first road game against a solid opponent.

Ducks lose after playing no defense and getting nothing from Catron.

Catron should be benched forever.
Starting lineup should be:
Porter/Armstead/Teondre/Jamil/Dunigan
OR
Porter/Armstead/Teondre/Lenkendric/Dunigan

Luckily, we only have this to complain about tonight. Much better than a football loss.

I agree about Catron. He occasionally makes some nice passes, but he's too short to play inside, and he's too fat and slow to play outside. Not to mention he can't hit a freethrow to save his life (that might be a stretch, but he sucks).UOducksTK1 wrote:Catron should be benched forever.

i agree about catron as well. malcolm had a big game. i wish jamil would look for his shot more and attack the basket more. not having dunigan hurt and we missed way too many close shots and layups.

Just when I thought that maybe this team had turned the corner, they go out and lose to Portland. Didn't we lose to them or Portland State last year or the year before that? Kent will get no pass this season. Oregon needs to get more than good guard play every night. Where was Crittle?

Re: Oregon @ Portland - Saturday 7 PM
I was saying this all week. Catron contributes NOTHING. Can't score down low, can't rebound, & can't play D in the post. He sould be coming off the bench. Crittle & Dunigan need to developed & made to be our guys down low. We don't have a choice.UOducksTK1 wrote:Catron should be benched forever.

Re: Oregon @ Portland - Saturday 7 PM
Why Wilson only played 14 minutes tonight is beyond me. Dunlap better get Ernie in gear. So far though, there are some things like the Oregon teams of the past few years. The entire offense is run through Porter. The inside game is inconsistent. The defense crumbles when it needs to come up with big stops. It's just one loss, but my hopes are higher for this team.
