Seems this caught most people by surprise. Based on some comments/rumors, it seems there may be some NIL hijinks going on from other schools and he's now checking those schools out.

I don’t understand the point of committing so early in this day in age.

Man, it’s already hard to get excited about commits sticking, but with NIL deals floating around like crazy, don’t get excited about a commit until he plays his first game.

He only decommitted because he thought Evans may have been headed to Arizona or Kentucky but once he committed to Oregon, Cook was going to be back in the fold.

ESPN is so ‘on’ their #8 ranked 2023 player Cook, they still 2 days after the recommit, haven’t updated their player list.
