We've made post season 7 of the last 12 seasons in baseball. And this was tied for our worst post season experience, we've won at least two games every time except in 2015 where we lost by 1 run and 2 runs respectively.

Maybe we weren't expect to do so well this year, but relative to what our teams have been producing, this was a bad season.

Thanks for the thorough response. The evidence definitely points toward me just not really caring about the sports on the diamond, I guess. I probably feel a little more entitled to a good softball team, given the investment made there, but the baseball team is sort of a 'throw in' sport for me, like golf or tennis. Any good that comes of it is icing on the cake.

Fair. I was paying attention to baseball quite a bit under Horton, and we had some good runs with him as coach.

Also ironically, our baseball team seems to be trending in a better direction than softball. Softball is having many players leaving it seems every year. I’m worried we won’t even see a super regional anytime in the next few seasons.

In Oregon it feels like every sport except football, basketball and T&F is a "throw in" sport, but a lot of them has had success.

As long as we're grouping XC in with T&F, then yes, those are the ones I actually care about and expect success.

I'm a lifelong baseball fan, but I could never get into college baseball. Maybe it's the metal bats that make it feel like watching little league. Probably it has more to do with the fact that the best players usually don't go to college, so watching college baseball is roughly akin to watching a Hillsboro Hops game. Kind of hard to care if they win a championship or whatever. Or maybe it's just the difference in marketing in contrast to basketball and football.

I don't know; one has to draw the line somewhere with sports-watching time - too many other things in life going on. I generally draw mine at college baseball and women's sports.

I watch Oregon football, women's basketball (subject to change if KG doesn't figure it out this year!) and track and field. The rest, meh...
