Random thought but does San Diego states final 4 run help their justification to be in the PAC-12? They will likely be a top half pac-12 basketball team.

I think San Diego's location is good enough. Cable footprint aside, I'm stoked by the possibility of a San Diego road trip once every couple years.

Yes, Tourney wins give money to the school/league.UOducksTK1 wrote:Random thought but does San Diego states final 4 run help their justification to be in the PAC-12? They will likely be a top half pac-12 basketball team.
The hope is that their football team would take a Utah'esque rise to draw more interest.

I've been wondering about this a little - The money doesn't get paid out for years from wins in the NCAA tournament. So if a school changes conference, does the money go to their former conference (when the wins occurred) or do they follow the school to the new conference?Duck07 wrote:Yes, Tourney wins give money to the school/league.UOducksTK1 wrote:Random thought but does San Diego states final 4 run help their justification to be in the PAC-12? I'd guess that it still goes to the Conference they were a part of. Could be a nice gift from UCLA in a few years, lolStevensTechU wrote:

Hopefully he manages to get us and Washington in that conference, I would prefer to be safe instead of being in a conference that is a shell of it's former self and looks like it's struggling, and btw, I think we will compete greatly in the Big Ten.greenyellow wrote:

Another round of Big-12 propaganda meant to destabilize the Pac-12's media negotiations has been authoritatively quashed by Colorado's AD.

Yes, and the Easter bunny is real. What do you expect him to say until they sign on the dotted line?pezsez1 wrote:Another round of Big-12 propaganda meant to destabilize the Pac-12's media negotiations has been authoritatively quashed by Colorado's AD.

Big 12 knows they are in a worse position that is why they are trying to destabilize the Pac in hopes of poaching a few schools. They've been sending out false rumors for months.pezsez1 wrote:He would say nothing if there were any truth to the nonsense.Yes, and the Easter bunny is real. Just read a juicy rumor that originated on Dawgman that says Amazon is trying to negotiate a tv deal that would put Oregon and Washington into the Big 10. Anyone else see this?

I wouldn't believe it as it's another one of those rumors that's basically a friend of a friend with tangential relationships connected to sports media heard through the grapevine. Amazon or the Pac-12 isn't letting something like that leak out in this fashion.Phalanx wrote:Just read a juicy rumor that originated on Dawgman that says Amazon is trying to negotiate a tv deal that would put Oregon and Washington into the Big 10. More likely just another "leak" from Big 12 sources trying to destablize our media deal discussions. Might be getting tired of being repeatedly shut down by Four Corners ADs and presidents.
