There was little Kliavkoff could do until their media deal was up since Scott had screwed things up in that department so badly. Sucks that the conference presidents and ADs stuck by him for so long.Phalanx wrote:Don't let some of these tweets kid you, this has been in the works for a few years. I remember Joel Klatt talking about it awhile back, saying that the LA schools were leaving if something wasn't done about revenue, etc.greenyellow wrote:Beginning to miss how things used to be now that everything we knew and loved has been tossed to the side the past couple years during the pandemic. I doubt this move would have happened if the conference schools didn't get so strapped for cash due to the bad media deal and then the lack of attendance for that one season.

Man, I can't wait till Oregon finally makes their decision about their potential future conference, hopefully it's NOT the Big 12

Why is anyone even thinking the Big 12, ACC or pac 12? All 3 will be non power conferences by 2024. If Mullens doesn’t land UO in the Big or SEC, he should be fired.

The beauty of CFB is the pageantry of it and local pride
I'm sorry, but playing Maryland and Rutgers instead of UW and OSU is just plain dumb. We can laugh about leaving those two rivals behind and without a conference, but we truly do want them to still be in our conference.
CFB is just going to be such a sanitized version of itself as this and NIL continues. It's absolutely crazy to me, but the one thing I thought I would never lose interest in, is teetering on that happening as more and more of these changes are implemented.

I don't think people will truly know what has been lost once it is truly gone. Being in a conference with so many schools that they have no history with is going to make a lot of people unhappy in the long run. All had USC and UCLA had to do was wait another couple years to see what the next media deal would be. Instead they got impatient and greedy/selfish.

Best case scenario now is we make it in the BIG with Washington, play USC/UCLA/Washington each year and schedule OSU OOC for the next century. I hate it, but that's the best that we can get now that everything has gone up in flames.

This just broke today so of course they don't have much to add right now. I'm sure we'll see the response in the next couple weeks/months.DuckzRule wrote:Well, I'm starting to think Oregon doesn't wanna leave the Pac-12
