Just read that dunigan is likely out for game at portland due to an upper leg injury. I guess we'll find out how what kind of depth we have

Dang thats a pretty big blow. He was dominating defensively in the first 3 games. Time for Crittle to step up. He was our best post player at the end of the year, hopefully he can pick back up where he left off. Lord knows Catron can't. Am I the only one that thinks Catron is not very good? He should be 2nd or 3rd guy off the bench IMO.

It's not that Catron isn't good, he's just a tweener. He's too short to be playing the 4, but not agile enough to be playing the 3. He's a good rebounder and post player, he just is too short to play it consistently. If the guy was 2 inches taller he'd be an absolute beast.

I think not having Dunigan hurts the team more defensively than offensively. The offense seems to be run primarily through Porter and the other guards.

I see where you are coming from, but I don't really think this is a case of Catron "being good" as much as it is him being a tweener. He is a good player, but really lacks the height to be a true post player and lacks the quickness and ball handling skills to be an effective wing. I read somewhere that he lost a bunch more weight. I have to wonder if that was a good thing??? Seems like he was a more effective under-sized post player when he had some meat on him and could throw his body around and push bigger players out of the box. I am not sure that dropping weight was the best idea for him considering his skill set. I guess we will see.

Agreed. I really liked his game last year. Down low he had some nice moves, when he wasn't being called for traveling haha. He just looks completely innefective down low this year. Losing even more weight this off season probably has had a big effect. What gets me is its pretty obvious that he's not playing well but he's continuing to start & Crittle is getting ZERO minutes. We're going to realy need Crittle this year.
