He's going to SC and them joining the Big Ten played a role in doing so.

Can imagine usc will get alot of top west coast kids due to their conf. move. But after a few years, it will be evident that USC will have an even more difficult path to making the cfp. I dont see them ever beating out Ohio State. And top west coast kids will then stay close to home and play for the clemson of the west (oregon) hahaha. Wishful, bored off-season day dreaming

Just watched his HUDL and damn, bummer. Little bit undersized but very athletic and very smart player.

USC, as always, will do well enough in recruiting because of their history and location. Also, the single biggest knock on SC this off-season has been just how pathetic their lines look, especially at OL. There is a much easier path to playing early for him
Making this move though they made it a lot harder to recruit in their own backyard now because Ohio State and Michigan who have had some success out West in the past will have a stronger foothold for going after those players.
Some of the SA's won't mind the travel but I think a lot of the smaller sports are really going to suffer when the short trip on half of their league games is akin to flying out to Pullman. We already live in the Transfer Portal AND NIL era so recruiting players in this era is half about relationship building so that you can potentially poach them in a year or two. The major hold-up right now with the TV/NIL issue for the schools is that they cannot be funneling money into the NIL operations or else that would be construed as a "school employee" as you have a few in Congress who are active on sports issues like baseball's anti-trust. The specific trigger of the SA as an employee is where the Schools specifically want to stay away from which is why Division St exists and walks a fine line with any kind of recognition from the UO.

Not saying I wouldn't have wanted him, but he did just drop USC's recruit score average below ours. But we do need to pull in some big uglies.

If only recruiting scores mattered. Beyond 5*s it's all a crap shoot defined by former high school football players (and non players). That's why listening to analysis of these recruiting experts about play, scheme, projections is a lost time.
