So salaries+cap have to match exactly (or more) for a trade involving cap space to work?

As Brad makes ~17.7M, and you're sending ~7.3M, you're gaining 10,352,204 cap from the deal, ~189k more than your current cap space of 10,162,881.

Correct I believe. Can't exceed soft cap if it's a deal to absorb a contract(s). Can only exceed soft cap if it's in FA.
