Even on a poorer than average shooting night and foul trouble with multiple starters, Ducks win 82-62 in Tempe.

Glad to see Kennedy Basham out on the floor contributing. Hope we get another player from the portal so Chance Gray's minutes go down some. She actually played more minutes (36) than anybody last night. Her stats are pretty lacking for the minutes played and she's really struggling shooting the ball as well. Strange that someone shooting 90% FT doesn't have a high shooting percentage from the field. That high FT shooting percentage makes me believe that she will eventually start shooting better. I guess we just have to trust KG. He must see something.. I get it, she's just a freshman struggling right now but she needs to figure out that her horrible shooting isn't really helping the team momentum at times and start making an extra pass and go rebound.
Just my .02 cents.

UConn just had to cancel a game for lack of healthy players and even Auriemma has missed games. Seems like we're not the only place with availability issues.

I agree 36 is a lot of minutes for her but, a big part of that is Gray largely rotated with Isai and Hurst. When Hurst comes back that will be partially fixed. In the meantime her 32.5% on 3's is acceptable and she is also an above average defender. I see her as an offensive upgrade over Scherr with a ton more upside. When Rogers, Hanson and Hurst leave she will have a key role as the 2 incoming freshmen guards are more shooting guard - small forward combos. The decommit of Amari Whiting needs to be filled in the Transfer portal next year for sure.nogerO wrote:Glad to see Kennedy Basham out on the floor contributing. At least with all the play she is getting she wont transfer out for lack of minutes this off-season.
