A few things I've "heard":
Starting safeties(kid from Ole Miss) and Evan Williams are going to be a massive upgrade for us.
Josh Conerly Jr. is gonna have a breakout year.
Ty Thompson doesn't suck anymore.
WR transfer Tez Johnson is going to be a stud for us.
LBer might still be a problem.

Not surprised about LB. We didn’t do well enough in the portal of recruiting to shore that position up.GrantDuck wrote:A few things I've "heard":

Re: 2023 Oregon Spring Practices
While LB is still a problem, will it be as big of a problem as last year? I personally didn’t expect Oregon’s defense to be good next year, but I did expect them to upgrade from really bad to mediocre, and if the offense is as good next year that should be more than good enough to compete for a PAC-12 championship. Are those expectations unrealistic?GrantDuck wrote:A few things I've "heard":

If LB depth is so bad, really makes me wonder why Brown is transferring.

Re: 2023 Oregon Spring Practices
probably views himself as starting material and doesnt want to share reps. He was playing fairly well 2 years ago as a freshman against tOSU. Makes sense if he wasnt the clear cut starter at this point.Phalanx wrote:If LB depth is so bad, really makes me wonder why Brown is transferring.

Coaches are already looking at other players who could fill in at TE but it sounds like they'd prefer looking to add from the portal.

He’s about to be a JR, and probably doesn’t want to be a backup again. Jacobs came in and has looked like a really good LB. If he stays healthy, Brown probably isn’t playing a ton.

Love hearing that Devon Jackson is looking good in the spring. LB that ran a 10.54 100 is a welcome sight after last years group.
