Missouri just lost to Richmond. They play #24 Vanderbilt on Wednesday, so I'll be keeping an eye on that game.

Missouri is a solid team, but Ducks need this win.

I am going to he Mizzou game. Is there anyone else on the board going to the game? Mizzou might pay my bills, but you can guarantee that I will be wearing green and yellow.

Missouri lost a close game tonight at Vanderbilt. They will be a tough test, although I don't think they are as good as they were last season. In other news, the pac-10 lost all 3 games today against Gonzaga, UNLV and New Mexico. You hear that Oregon? The opportunity is there for you this season.

Boooooooooooooo! What a joke. The sad thing is that this team could lose the game by 50 and Kent's job would be safe. Why is mediocrity accepted with the basketball program? At least we have one top notch sports program.

this is patethic our women's team would kill us right now and I am boycotting going to games until they actually seem to care.

Maybe the Ducks need a part-time Men's Coach such as Westhead...

have tried and tried and tried to justify keeping Ernie around...he is a good guy, led us to the elite 8 a few times, recruited very very well, and bleeds green and yellow... I really really wanted it to work with him as our coach....but this does it, I'm through, he should be fired, if he would accept keep him on as a recruiting coordinator or something (he wouldn't) but it is plain and clear that no matter the help he gets this team just isn't his anymore...we are losing by 35....to Missouri...wow....

Why can't we ever get a freshman to put up good stats? Other teams get it all the time. I'm still shocked that Wilson chose the ducks. I don't know what's worse, the halfcourt offense or the lack of defense. I'm surprised Phil Knight has nothing to say about this.

I think the fact that these threads get so few posts just shows how much people care about the basketball team. Let's see if we can even beat the 4 cupcakes after St Mary's. Kent should have been gone years ago, and at the very least after last season.

Porter had a pretty good freshman year...Hairston played solid his freshman year. Not flashy stats, but decent enough. These aren't the 5 star freshmen that are putting up sick stats like Wall. They are guys that need to be developed. This is getting a little out of hand though. They need to do everything to get Few here this offseason. I've supported Kent and credit him for bringing the Ducks this far, but something obviously needs to changed. The 2nd half of this Mizzou game is all I've seen so far this year and that was heinous. They don't set up the offense or anything. Just sprint down the floor, someone drives and attempts a wild layup. Brutal.

What has Few done exactly to deserve to be the coach here?...Please tell me

I'm not sure Few would be the answer either. Oregon needs an up and coming coach.

Somehow I'm not surprised that you came on here to defend Kent regardless of the outcome. I get it. He's done a lot for the basketball program, and brought them out of obscurity. I get annoyed by the same 2-3 posters on here whining about every move he makes. I've defended him even through last season's struggles, because I knew it was a young group and they would struggle. Even through the first 6 games this year I understood it would be an up and down season. I was expecting maybe 16-20 wins or so. After watching this debacle at Mizzou though I think I have seen enough. That is about as embarrassing a performance I have seen. Zero defense, no offensive structure. Just ugly. I wasn't even expecting to see Oregon win the game, but at least stay competitive and not look like a complete joke out there. I'm predicting Mizzou to be an NIT team, maybe bubble NCAA tourney team. Oregon should not be obliterated by a team of that talent.

Few has had a consistent winner at a small school with half the resources that Kent has at Oregon. Kent is a great recruiter, but Few also brings in a solid recruiting class at Gonzaga with less to sell recruits on in my opinion. I don't care that it is a mid-major conference or that they often bow out in the 2nd round of the tourney. He gets them there and gives them a great chance to win each year with less resources. Even this year which was predicted to be a bit of a down year by their standards they were a minute away from beating #2 Michigan St. at MSU's place. They are always competitive with top competition, and quite frankly he may not be a perfect X's and O's coach but he is better than Kent. I don't think that is at all debatable. Do I think he would come to Oregon and they would win the Pac-10 every year? Absolutely not, but they would consistently be competitive and not the train wreck I just witnessed this afternoon. That is my point. I'm not sure if they will even be able to pry him away from Gonzaga, but I think he is the guy they have a legit shot to get that would turn the program around.
