Looks like 2024 QB commit Michael Van Buren has decommitted. Probably not unsurprising since he had a bad SR season and the staff is looking at bringing in a grad transfer. Hopefully it doesn't cost CB Oregon Ify Obidegwu.

I think you hit the nail on the head. Van Buren could be a solid college quarterback, but big programs like Oregon like to go after guys with NFL upside and take guys like Van Buren/Anthony Brown/etc in the portal if they pan out. The issue is what happens to the rest of our DMV recruiting, including Ify, Riggs, and others.

I wonder if this could also be related to rumors that Will Stein is trying to go back to the state of Texas...

He really didn’t look great this year. I think it’s the best for both parties that this happens.

He just committed to Mississippi State. Given the timing of this, are we sure he got processed or did he get flipped since he'll have an easier path to start there?

Based on Oregon going after Gabriel and potentially Moore, I'd say MVB got processed out of the class.
