Minnesota offense looks bad also. I’ve often wondered if BIG defenses are really as good as their stats say they are. Or do they just face horrible offenses. Guess we will find out this year.

I think it’s a combo of both, top teams have better defenses than anything Oregon has seen in a while in the Pac-12 and overall the defenses are a little better but the B1G seems to have this weird obsession with having a bad vanilla offense and falsely labeling it as a “power” running game.

Not really a Big Ten comment specifically, but yesterday seemed to indicate that the gap between majors, mid-majors, and FCS might be growing. Even a bad Colorado team was able to beat a top tier FCS North Dakota State squad, which doesn't happen if it's the Trey Lance, Carson Wentz NDSU teams of the past. I'll be curious the rest of this and next weekend if that remains true.

Funny, I was thinking the opposite.
NDSU probably has one of the weaker teams in the last 14 years, and still was a couple plays away from pulling off the upset.
Western Carolina was the better team for 3 quarters against a top 25 NC State team.
There were was a handful of blowouts too, but the games that were televised were surprisingly decent games.

Wisconsin and Michigan State also have meh offenses.

Cuz I know Chiles can play better. And I do think Wisconsin’s run game is gonna dominate at times too.

Big Ten is not looking like a strong conference. Interesting how many teams look like well oiled machines. I haven't done any kind of analysis of this year versus past years, but just a ton of lopsided scores across college football.

Big Ten has never been deep. Is why OSU and Michigan were able to coast through it for many years. All you need is an offense that can put up 17 points a game, and that should secure you 10 wins every year. Look at the success Iowa has had.
