I*'m sorry but I saw an entitled little rich bitch causing his own troubles. Disrespectful, mouthy and uncooperative. When you get pulled over, stop, (not in the lanes of traffic like he did!) roll your window down (his windows were so darkly tented [likely illegal]) so the officers did not know what he was doing inside the car (arming himself?), put your hands on the steering wheel and respond to commands the FIRST time they are given. The police probably don't know who you are, and probably shouldn't give a crap either. From what I saw the officers acted appropriately for the situation. Speeding and erratic behavior are signs of possible drug use and associated erratic sometimes violent behavior. Al reasons to secure the perp for not only his own safety but for the officers' as well!

A society that doesn't accept responsibility for their actions on both sides.
I think both sides are responsible for the outcome and that it wasn't a situation from the start that requires anything but issuing a citation once Tyree became a dick about being pulled over. Tyree wanted a confrontation and the police were all to happy to comply over a nothing burger of a traffic violation and they make him the sympathetic figure as a result of their aggressive overreactions.

IMO rolling up a fully tinted window to a cop isn't just disrespectful, but unsafe. What happened next seems reasonable when you won't comply and potential put officers at risk. But generally speaking, being rude to a cop isn't enough to tackle/cuff someone.

The police released 105 minutes of body cam footage, the media is only showing a select 90 seconds so far. My point is it is hard to determine what the full story is. I do believe Hill was getting out of the car, the second he used his door latch the cop made his moveā¦.. warranted?

My thoughts in two parts:
1) Tyreek should have complied when the cop told him to roll down his window back down. I think (based on a quick google search) Florida is a state where you're required to roll down your window for police, and a man of his stature should have known that. Also -- within the rights of the cop or not -- I don't blame the officer for not wanting to stand outside of a heavily tinted window. The cop didn't help himself by being a total dick while exerting his authority, but being a dick isn't illegal (especially not in Florida haha). Based on what I've seen, I hope this officer learned a lesson about temperament but otherwise returns to work shortly.
2) My guess is that Tyreek wasn't aware that he had to keep his window down. Lots of information & misinformation about what cops are allowed to do during traffic stops has flown around the internet over the past several years, and on top of that laws are slightly different from state to state. (In some states, you only have to roll your window down just enough to communicate.) From what I could see on the bodycam footage, Tyreek appeared to be respectful and compliant with everything police were doing EXCEPT for not rolling down his window, so I'm temporarily giving him the benefit of the doubt that he didn't believe he was doing anything wrong. Would be awesome if the rules of traffic stops were standardized and publicized to help prevent incidents like this.
Overall, police are just people who want to do their jobs and then go home, just like anyone else in any other public or private position. The vast majority of these incidents would be avoided if people simply complied and dealt with any beef at a later date in court.

Respectfully disagree. Being rude and non cooperative is a common behavior for people who have something to hide. Throw in reckless driving and speeding, and yes taking him down and restraining him was warranted, not only for the policemen's safety but for the detainee as well. Wonder how long it took him to pull over, sort of. Looks like he was parked to the left of the fog line which is still in the lanes of travel. Guess we might learn if we get the rest of the footage?

Maybe you misread my post, I said what happened from police standpoint was reasonable to me.

The dude has beat his girlfriend, beat his kid, hit a man for trying to run his business, broke a woman's leg playing football, and now this. I really don't give 2 shits how he was treated. The best predictor of future behavior is one's past behavior. He was treated appropriately given his history.

So "FIRE THE COPS!" is already happening, their lawyers are DEMANDING it happen. But we all knew that was coming. And the knee jerk from the Police hierarchy is soon to follow because they are afraid of being sued. Well they're gonna be sued anyway, that's for sure. This is all about get even for every single possible case in history of real or imagined unnecessary excessive force by the police. I have a few police friends who have told me they're afraid to pull over certain people because of the chance that this type of thing may happen to them and they could wind up going getting shot, killed or going to prison because they used force on some jackazz that really deserved it from their actions, demeanor and mouth. Can't wait to see how the media decides this one is going to turn out.
OK you may have your soapbox back now.

Honestly, I don't think this is really that big of a deal and most people will have moved on in a week from now.

So now Tyreek says he could have handled it better, but I still want the cop who took me down and cuffed me needs to be fired, NOT he could have handled it better. SMFH
