My gosh I’m stoked! That’s an amazing get for Lanning! This certainly helps my OLine depth concern going forward.

I’m still hoping that Prime ditches Colorado this offseason and Lanning can pick up Seaton in the portal.

O-Line always needs to be top priority.

Crazy. I was told we should worry about Terry's recruiting, because he only signed 2 4 stars last cycle and neither was a Day 1 contributor. Plus, he only had 2 4 stars locked up this class before Utu. Hopefully he's figuring it out.

What's crazy is people are complaining about getting only a couple of 4 star guys, and talking like we're some kind of blue chip program that's been getting these type of signings for decades on end.

Sarcasm noted, but to give a serious response...

Terry's classes are looking up. I had a ton of concern after taking guys like Lipe (a mountain west talent) and Boulton (might have ended up in the Big Sky if not for Terry). Every recruiter isn't going to only have sure bets, but usually you're taking a really athletic ball of clay (George Silva) and hoping for the best, or a really good football player with some physical limitations (Alex Forsyth, though he wasn't one of Terry's). I'm not going off stars, but film. In that first Terry class, Silva probably was the only guy with NFL size and athleticism, but he's not the best football player. Wilson, Lipe, Poncho, and Boulton have limited talent among them.

In the 24 class, Ferguson and Brooks are long shots but physically capable, McCroy has a bit better chances and has immense upside, and Crader is the best prospect Terry has landed. So overall better than the prior class. This class, Utu and Ziyare are right there with Crader, Alai is solid, and Manning is the one reach where you're saying he has an NFL body so let's take a chance. That's night and day different then two classes ago.

Is Terry getting better? Or is more NIL money being allocated to cover a deficiency? Just some better luck? Or maybe STU is grading these linemen all wrong. Who knows. But in my eyes, it's on the upswing, thankfully.

I wasn't necessarily singling anyone out, just that thread in general that was calling for Terry's head after 1 week and recruiting being mentioned as an issue. I think where the confusion comes in to play is that Terry wasn't hired until February '23, so the '23 class was none of his recruits. Those were Klemm guys. That's been my point when folks have talked about his poor recruiting. He's only had 1 class so far, and they are all true freshmen. Out of that class McCroy and Crader were guys that we would have pined for in years past. I think Ferguson has a chance, but won't be until he's an upper classman (which used to be the expectation for the OL), since he's had so little experience playing football. He also brought in Cornelius, which definitely helped solidify the tackle position for a few years, since there was a lack of talent left there from before.

I just thought it was way too early to gauge his recruiting talents, given he's only had 1 class and nobody should expect true freshmen to be playing significant minutes on the OL. It's nice when the exception exists, but it shouldn't be the standard.

I definitely appreciate the reminder on that timeline, as it clearly is mixed up in my memory. That now straight, I certainly agree it's too early to state whether he's a plus recruiter or not.

Regarding coaching, coach Cavanaugh is one of the best in the business. A grizzled old coach who's seen all there is to see. From a technical perspective, I find it hard to imagine the line ever not getting top notch coaching for that reason. Partially why the first couple games were so confounding.

Agree Stevens about Cavanaugh.

Hopefully the ship is on the right course now
