Way past time for the college football referees to upgrade to full time paid referees. With all the money that college football generates, there's no excuse for blowing obvious calls and flags on half the pass plays. It seems to me that the SEC calls the least amount of PI's. Let them play unless they grab and hold or face guard.
It's almost like the BIG refs are out to get the Ducks at times.

Agreed, and they should be subject to reporter questions at press conferences

I would hate to lose intelligent, hard working guys like these fellas.

I couldn't believe it when I was watching this game live.
As if the incompetence of the first ref wasn't bad enough, his halfwit buddy runs up and just rolls along with it. Ban these morons for life.
*Illinois did eventually challenge the spot and got it corrected.

I thought i saw somewhere that because the Pac 12 dissolved, most of the officials went on to other conferences, one of them being the B1G. It's no secret that Pac 12 officiating was so bad there's not even a way to describe it. Could these officials moving to other conferences be part of the problem?

They should be graded just like the NFL does. Bad refs get sent to bad games and if their grades get to a certain level they send them to the WNBA.

It’s amazing this hasn’t been done yet, but this may really become a possibility for next season with how awful officiating has been in both college football and NFL.
