The Other Guys - Week 11
Not a ton of intrigue this upcoming week. I'll be on a flight for half the day and I'd say it was good timing as far as missing the action of a Saturday.
Playoff Contention
(2) Georgia @ (19) Ole Miss - An Ole Miss win puts them back in the discussion of a playoff spot. They're not great, but voters have strong recency bias. If Georgia loses, their game with Tennessee becomes a playoff eliminator, I think. For what it's worth, Georgia has the hardest conference schedule and overall schedule of any of the top tier southeastern conference teams, by far. They're playing the schedule that people think everyone else in their conference plays.
(11) Alabama @ (14) LSU - Barring chaos, the loser of this will have a 3rd loss and is out of playoff contention. There are going to be too many teams with 0-2 losses for them to sneak in considering neither looks great (Bama has a loss to Vandy and LSU has a loss to USC)
washington @ (6) Penn State - If I'm a Nittany Lion fan, I'm worried about a hangover. uw hasn't performed this year, but they definitely have weapons.
Michigan @ Indiana - We keep waiting for Indiana to get tested, and so that can gets kicked again to this week.
Army @ North Texas - If Boise slips up, Army stands to gain. Playing at UNT is not easy. Chandler Morris has put up video game numbers since transferring from TCU.
(9) BYU @ Utah - Sco Utes. I hope Whittingham gets a W before riding off into the sunset (unconfirmed, but I bet he owns a Harley).

Can Bama and LSU both lose? Neither of those team deserves to be in the playoffs though unfortunately the winner of that matchup between very overrated teams will get credited with winning a “big game” which will be justification to be in the playoffs and both teams will most likely win out after this game.

After the top 10 or so, there frankly doesn't seem like a lot of "playoff-worthy" teams. Lackluster 2-3 loss teams like LSU and Bama or teams having a better season but aren't really a threat like Pitt or SMU.OregonFan4Life wrote: ↑Sun Nov 03, 2024 10:57 pm Can Bama and LSU both lose? If Oregon can navigate their future road schedules and can avoid losses to teams like Iowa, Minnesota, etc., then they should really be in the playoffs a lot, and frankly, same is true for 6-8 programs nationwide. I could see the playoffs getting kind of boring when there's just the same teams over and over.

Georgia Tech up 21-10 vs Miami, in the third quarter... Mari0's play choices sure make it dificult for this team, regardless of outcome.

Any bets on what the ACC refs pull this week to ensure a Miami victory?

Amazed they charged another penalty, setting Miami back to 4th and 16...
And Mari0 goes for it with Ward taking a sack for the T/O on downs.

Holy Crap! Georgia Tech offense is Couging this thing. Ends one potential game sealing drive by throwing a 2 yard pass behind a wide open WR and then in the last drive the running back runs out of bounce one yard short of the 1st instead of turning it up to stay in bounds and likely get the 1ts. then they don't pick up the one yard

Was a clear fumble by Ward, but honestly shocked the refs didn't call some tuck rule nonsense to give it back to Miami.

Mario gonna Mario. He will break your heart twice a season. He is not an elite coach. Who knew he did us a favor.
