WBB: Auburn @ Oregon (Nov. 20, Wed 6 PM B1G+)
Auburn and Oregon women are both unbeaten early in the season.
Tigers haven't played anyone good whereas our Ducks did beat Baylor.
Should be interesting.............GO DUCKS!

Fingers crossed. The Ducks need to take advantage of these sorts of games at home if they are going to make the Tourney.

Anyone know when Etute gets back from Europe? With Philli still just a fraction of her normal self, Auburn is the most physical team we've faced so far. Would be nice to have our strongest banger back.

I thought I read a while back that she was only going to be gone the first three games. But it's been five games so I don't know what's going on.

Really looking forward to seeing her play. She's only listed as 6-0, so not a lot of underneath height.

Low scoring first quarter with both teams being plagued by turnovers. Auburn leads 12-9.
Ducks shooting a low 30.8% on field goals. Surprisingly, no 3 pointers attempted in the first 10 minutes by Oregon.

Ducks wake up in the second quarter and outscore Auburn 24-15.
Oregon 33 - Auburn 27 at halftime.
Better ball control by our Lady Ducks in the second quarter, but still too many with a total of 10 turnovers in the first half.
Peyton Scott leads the Ducks with 13 points while Amina Muhammad and Deja Kelly each have 3 rebounds to lead in the category.
Ducks took only 3 long range field goals in the second quarter and missed all of them.
First half difference was Oregon shot 53.6% on field goals @ 15 of 28 while Auburn shot 35.7%(10 for 28)

Both teams score 17 points in the 3rd quarter for a six point Oregon lead 50-44.
Ducks still 0fer from distance shooting 0 of 5.

Ducks Win 70-68
After opening up a 9 point lead in the 4th quarter, Auburn whittles it down to a 2 point lead, but the Ducks hold on for the win.
Auburn is actually not a bad team. While not rated in the top 25, they did receive 7 votes in the latest Coaches Poll.
Phillipina Kyei led Oregon in scoring with 14 points, and in rebounding with 11 boards.

If you had told me before the game that Kyei would be the leading scorer for the Ducks, at only 14 points, I would have chalked it up as a loss. The leading scorer for Auburn had 28. It is nice the Ducks have enough depth and balance to pull out a game like this, even with Deja in an offensive slump.
Get Deja back on track and cut down on the turnovers.

I see that Kyei started and played 23 minutes with those excellent numbers. I'm feeling better about the post now as they head for Hawai'i. Still no Etute (or Kourouma or Wagner).

Etute was on bench so she must be doing rehab
Mevius makes a clutch play in final second wins against Oregon's two P5 opponents but also makes a bad play with 1 second left. Still she is the one I want to see on the floor for closeout minutes.
This team has so much across the board depth there isn't a single player or two that would be a catastrophe should they be out with injury or foul trouble or just be in a shooting slump.
For those who didn't see the game Auburn got Sophomore Taliah Scott from Arkansas who was a 5 Star recruit and averaged 22 a game with the Razorbacks and was all SEC-Freshman last year. In her 2 games this year she is 15-28 from 3 and had a couple of 3 makes against Oregon wiped out by offensive fouls from her teammates. She is so hot right now that I honestly thought the Ducks played good defense on her for the most part and she still dropped 28 with 7-14 from 3. So Oregon beating them despite their big time transfer player (Deeja Kelly) in a shooting slump and only making 2 (out of 8) 3 pointers was really a good win.

Thanks. Was Etute suited up? Did she look injured? I wonder if Graves has a policy of a player needing to have practiced a certain amount before being able to play in a game.
