This team is good, the Quad wins prove it, they finally didn't pull it out at the end against UCLA, so they're 10-1. Bamba has been in a severe shooting slump the last 4 or 5 games. Angel has hurt more than helped in the past few, but was the most effective against SFA. Shelstad was pretty much a no show against SFA, 4 missed shots, 1-2 from the FT line.

But they still won, and it was never in doubt. Rebounding is the one area where this team can really improve. Part of the reason SFA did well with offensive rebounds is because they missed so many shots.
There is no reason this team can't do what Altman's teams always do; get better and play their best in February-March.

Bamba and Shelstad’s shooting percentages are very poor right now. Hopefully just a rough first month.

Bittle is finding his shot which will be great moving forward, but Shelstad has streaks but hopefully can find some consistency going forward. I do think part of his problem is how flat his shot is, I don’t remember it being so flat last year but until he gets some arc I feel like he’ll struggle to be a consistent shooting threat.

I don’t think that this team will be one that mostly wins due to perimeter shooting and Altman had to break that mindset and it’s shown with how they’ve played since the Portland game. To me the only consistent 3 point threat this season will be Barthelemy, maybe Angel. Not to say the rest of the team doesn’t have a good shot but Barthelemy’s shot is so pure compared to the rest of the team that I see him hitting at least a few threes a game.

My biggest worry going forward is rebounding, they don’t seem to get a body when the ball goes up while on defense and try chasing the ball, this team really needs to work on blocking out to avoid giving up so many offensive rebounds. We were spoiled with Dante.
