Really torn between wanting to support the new conference and wanting to see James Franklin fail.

It has been interesting to watch the responses from the coaches of the top programs in the Big 10 as they lose to Oregon. Franklin was a bit more generous than Day in his praise of Oregon (maybe because he lost by more), but they both had negative things to say about the refs. Do they really think Big Ten refs were favoring Oregon? Anyway, I just concluded that both coaches were a little insecure in their positions and each one's loss to the new guy probably didn't help.

In general, I would root for the Big 10 over the SEC because it probably helps Oregon's interests. If all four teams show out well, it will make it easier in the future to get four teams in again, and one of these years, that fourth team might just be Oregon.

With Indiana losing, now I feel like I have to root for Penn State (and somewhat Ohio State) so the Big Ten doesn't look weak.

SMU's QB is just not ready for the moment.

4/1 he scrambles and has a first down but throws it incomplete.
Throws a weak pass that just about anybody could have intercepted and the Lions get their first TD.

This SMU QB needs to learn to live another down. The SMU defense is playing well. Throw the damn ball away, punt and try to pin them deep. As for that forth down deep in PSU territory pick up the quarantined 1st down.

Nice to see the team Oregon just beat up 28-0 in a playoff game. Somewhere an Alabama fan is writing his congressman.

Non-blue-bloods not making a great case for themselves so far this postseason.

If Jalen Milroe threw 3 INTs at 6-6 Oklahoma, I can't see what kind of rationale argument that could be made for these 3 loss teams that are celebrating.

I saw some tweet that said there's been 30 CFP games in totality and 16 of them have been blowouts and now it will be 32/18. Adding more teams to a playoff was always going to lead to more blowouts in the aggregate.

For as well as Penn State has played today, if Boise State doesn't turn the ball over like SMU they can absolutely make a game of it in the Fiesta Bowl. They've got a quality defense and should have had plenty of time to scout Kotelnicke's offense.
