Seeing this team, this is the game they're most likely to win.

If this team showed up like this every game we’d have 2 losses at this point and would be a top ten team.

Dang Jace Richardson is good! I’m very impressed by him.

Great first half. Second half entirely predictable. I wish Altman worked the refs more like Izzo does - lots of ticky tack calls start going their way.

This might be the most mentally weak team Altman has ever had. I’m extremely disappointed in this second half “effort”. When the shot is falling they play with so much energy but once they cool down they play so weak and soft. I never expected a win over Michigan State but with the halftime lead and their starting PG out this team had every reason to win this game but chose to come out with such a lazy effort in the second half. Credit to MSU, they simply outfought Oregon and deserved this win, but dang Izzo is annoying.

The Jekyll and Hyde nature of this team showed up in the worst moments today. Best half of the season by far followed by one of their worst. No excuse for them getting outscored by 20+ in the 2nd half like that. Not sure what else Altman can do to get this ship righted since they were in perfect position to get a win today.

Doesn't seem like there's anything he can do. It looks like State made some adjustments, but I doubt there was much concern about the halftime deficit. Great 1st half for Shelstad, then another disappearing act, Evans had the best performance all game long, Barthelemy's shot, his one made 3, should have had the Ducks rolling into the 2nd half. Yeah, right.greenyellow wrote: Sat Feb 08, 2025 12:21 pm Not sure what else Altman can do to get this ship righted since they were in perfect position to get a win today.

Barthelemy, for whatever reason, has been much more effective coming off the bench. He can’t buy a shot since moving into the starting lineup.

Unfortunately, I think the team mastered consistency, which led to complacency, which led them to where they are now. They were emboldened by coming from behind for wins early in the season, I think this led to over confidence. After the UCLA loss when the comeback didn't happen, they said they recognized the flaw in that strategy. But they didn't do anything to change.
Now, they usually still start slow. Against Michigan State they started great, even had a 3 pointer go in at halftime, momentum was theirs! Than the 2nd half started and we saw the Oregon team we have seen consistently all season. Soft is the best adjective I can find for this team; when the shots are going in, they play with energy, when they aren't, stagnant all over.
