Oregon faces Duke for a trip to the Sweet 16 just like in 2017.

Duke's freshman is out with the Flu so perhaps that's our crack in the door.

Really nice to see Sophia Bell hit a late 3 in the 1st.

All in all, a 12-9 lead after 1 feels like a great start even if it could be 5-7 point lead.

Gotta make sure the passing is crisp against this Duke defense but they've done a great job of slowing the game done and maximizing on the limited touches so far.

Great showing in the first half. The biggest upset in the women's tournament was the Ducks' win as a 10 seed, along with South Dakota State also winning as a 10 seed. So, a win over #2 Duke would be easily be the biggest upset of the tournament so far.

"and we've got a game in Durham. [break]"

No, sadly this one looks like it just flipped without much of a chance to turn back around.

Just an atrocious 55 seconds of play.

Sadly, I can't imagine it will be the same result as 2017. (Ah, 2017. The first year of a fabulous 4-year run that "should have" been capped with a national championship in 2020 if not for COVID.). I really do appreciate the "grindness" of this team, but I think they need a lot more offensive firepower to prevent this from being a route.

Hopefully now that Graves seems to have fully embraced the portal, maybe we'll start getting some key pieces that will elevate the program more towards the way it was.

Way to fight, Ducks! Hopefully the program has a bit of momentum going into the off-season.

Nice to see a team with a ton of fight after some time thinking maybe it's time for Graves to go (1 season of reaching the round of 32 doesn't get him out of the woods, and I'd take Mark Campbell in a heartbeat, but at least the seat is cooler).

That was a horrific start to the second half, credit to the team for making it a game to the end. Without Scott, Kelly really was the only offensive threat.

They had that game, just missed too many around the hoop and no one, outside of Deja Kelly, could create their own shot. Good showing but this program is a long way off from their dominance five years ago.

I agree about this team being a long way from the Sabrina, Ruthy, Satou teams, the best Ducks teams ever, but, with as you said, down to one real scoring threat, they were in this game. Who knows, if Scott hadn't been taken out with her injury, they night have pulled this one out. Very unlikely they, or any team, will be as good as that Oregon run.
Kelly's gone next season, probably Scott too, gonna have to hit the portal hard.

They definitely had this game, very painful loss. Towards the end they really should have only had Philly or Deja taking the shots.
Also they should've come up with plays to feed Philly the ENTIRE game. She was far dominant than any player the Duke had.
Kelly Graves is just known for making zero adjusments.
