Based on a few rumors, it sounds like Oregon is after a couple overseas guys. The known one is Paul Mbiya, a Congolese PF/C who'll be visiting this coming weekend. There's an unknown one that people are not really willing to share openly on Twitter or other social media sites for free yet.

Already 700+ players in the portal and the first full day isn't even over yet.

Oleksandr Kobzystyi confirms he'll be back. He's gained a bunch of weight since joining the program and he felt going against Bamba and Tracey every day helped him progress well.

Cool, he may end up doing nothing for us but fun to have a high upside guy to develop on the side. Hope he does well!greenyellow wrote: ↑Mon Mar 24, 2025 6:26 pm Oleksandr Kobzystyi confirms he'll be back. Magoon Gwath is the prototypical Dana Altman big. I hope they get in on him, though I have no idea whether they have a shot. Blocks shots, shoots 3s at a decent clip, athletic. Sign me up!

Mookie Cook is transferring, darn I was hoping he could be a very valuable player next year.

Yeah, I suspect that the basketball team isn't quite as supported as football in NIL, hence why they tend to miss on top transfers. Not to say they lacking in NIL, just not enough to compete with the blue bloods.

Pick your poison. Football generates far more money than hoops, so I am good with a higher percentage of NIL going to football. A national championship in hoops would be awesome. One in football would be that x100.

I imagine with NIL, we'll be able to compete with some overseas contracts that we may not have previously been able to. Possibly at value in terms of NIL budget compared to what some of the transfers might look like.greenyellow wrote: ↑Mon Mar 24, 2025 4:08 pm Based on a few rumors, it sounds like Oregon is after a couple overseas guys. Smart for the staff to look here.
My #1 guy in the portal is the kid from New Mexico. Spend the NIL budget on him. With Kwame, Bittle, Shelstad, and him, we are a Final 4 team.

Re: 2025-26 MBB Additions/Subtractions
One name I'm potentially intrigued by is Oregon State F Michael Rataj. He'd help to really spread the floor but he'd also potentially take away minutes from Kwame Evans since they're both stretch 4s unless Rataj could play SF.

From what I've read, it sounds like Dent is probably following Pitino to Xavier. Obviously still worth a shot, but he may already be locked in with his destination.GrantDuck wrote: ↑Wed Mar 26, 2025 12:00 pmI imagine with NIL, we'll be able to compete with some overseas contracts that we may not have previously been able to.
