I put the Oregon State game on the list because I think OSU gets their first win of the year finally, despite going on the road. This is not a good App State team.

washington @ Maryland will be revealing for where each team stands. Maryland will either reveal themselves as being above average or not, and washington will show whether it's a fringe-top 25 team or just an average team.

I put Vandy and Alabama on here because they're both ranked, but I honestly don't think either team is all that good. One - or maybe both! - will get into the playoffs but get bounced in the first round.

If Florida can get a defensive or special teams touchdown, I could see them knocking off Texas in a low scoring affair.

Mississippi State might knock off A&M.

There’s already the full court push to get 5 sec teams in even with 3-4 losses

I think the SEC is down this year with no dominant team. I honestly want chaos and hope Vandy wins out for the hilarity

This year's SEC is 2024's Big 12. There's no national title contender but lots of good teams.

Maybe I’m picking with my heart and not my head, but I have Maryland beating Washington. That’s a long distance for Washington to travel plus I think Washington’s weakness play right into Maryland’s strengths. Maryland has a good pass rush, I know they haven’t played anyone but they have 14 sacks on the season so far which is pretty good. I think Demond Williams will take a beating and we already know that dude plays with no regard for his safety, so he could be hobbled by the end of the game. Plus the Huskies have no defense and I think the Maryland offense could put up some points. With the home crowd behind them I think Maryland wins a high scoring close game.

On the contrary, I would not be surprised if there are no TD’s in the Texas at Florida game and Texas wins like 9-3 or something like that. I know Florida’s season is over but their defense still seems to play with a lot of pride and they’ll want to prove their reputation, plus those guys will wanna smack around cocky Arch Manning. I think ultimately the difference in that game is Lagway will end up completing more passes to Texas than Manning will to Florida, and the field position from those interceptions will allow them to kick more field goals.

Would love to hear any arguments that (1) Vandy could beat 'Bama, (2) Florida could beat Texas, and (3) FSU could beat Miami. Not even that you're necessarily "predicting" any of those outcomes, but just how it could happen. I have enjoyed seeing the beginnings of such arguments by some of you. Because (1) who doesn't want 'Bama to lose? (+ I'd prefer DeBoer to not succeed there so that there's a lower chance of Husky fans wistfully thinking that had they retained him, the Huskies would have been able to continually handle the Ducks); (2) I'd like tOSU's earlier win over the Longhorns to be devalued as much as possible so that the Ducks would possibly leapfrog them to #1 in the polls + it might rule out GameDay showing up in Austin the following week, opting for Eugene instead, and (3) I continually (and admittedly childishly) root against Mario succeeding at Miami.

And of course I'll root for Maryland over UW. I mean, I'm a Duck fan . . .

I still don’t trust Mario to not randomly forget how to manage the clock at the worst possible time. Give me FSU by a field goal wide left by Miami

Vanderbilt's path to beating Alabama is that they can put points on them and Alabama can't run the ball. This isn't your older brother's Alabama, and they're no longer three deep with NFL players at every position. With Vanderbilt's potency on offense, I could see them putting up 31+, and with Alabama's struggles on offense, I could see them scoring 30 or less.

Florida's path to beating Texas is strong defense aided by bad Texas offense, and scoring once or twice with special teams and takeaways. Problem there is Florida's offense likes to give it away at a high clip and this could just be the same game as when Florida and LSU played.

FSU's got an annoying quarterback. That gives them a chance to put up points in every game.

Thanks, STU. Since I won't be in a good position to know the outcomes of these games until tomorrow evening sometime, I'll keep a good thought as I go to bed tonight.

Michigan is really bad, they might have the worst OLine in the B1G.

They (Michigan OL) have stunk it up. And Wisconsin is not good at all.

But I still suspect UCLA has the worst unit in the Big 10 at nearly every position group. That team is just awful--I am curious how Penn State responds to the loss and how UCLA responds to the new coach. Will have that game on alongside Bama/Vandy. Hopefully one of those games stays close.

UCLA scores pretty easily on their opening drive, it’s early but Penn State looks so lost and unmotivated, Franklin may have lost the team after that devastating loss to Oregon.

And an onside kick recovery!

UCLA's newish coaching staff is certainly shooting their shot. That was one hell of a scripted first drive. Jerry Neuheisel might turn out to be a legit OC.

UCLA's OL looks much better than Michigan's so far as well, appears you were on to something there. Though the Big 10 refs missed/didn't call (yet another) hold on the first play from scrimmage for UCLA's offense.
