Not that a think theres a Pac-10 Championship any time soon, but i'm sorry, the Oregon Basketball program really needs a wholesale CHANGE IMO. Even on the road, we lose to an ok Missouri team by 40+??? Lose to Montana at home?? I'm a long time Oregon Duck and i appreciate Ernie Kent and his ties to Oregon, but after the season its time to make a change. Its sad, but i have a very hard time watching an Oregon basketball game anymore. No way should we ever lose by these amount of points we've seen the past 2 years .... IMO!!!!

Completely agreed! I couldn't believe the score differental in that game!

Doesn't justify nearly a 40 point loss IMO. We have enough talent to at least lose by 10-15 points. Losing by 40 is absurd. This team is extremely poorly coached and it was evident today.

The biggest problem with this team is players lacks of ability to be scorers...TP's the only true scorer on this team...Without him we have a hard time getting going which was a big part of the struggles last year and why we actually looked improved early this season...When he comes back, if he can be the scorer we all know he is and showed at the start of this season this team will look and play a lot different these last few games without him.

Well if we don't have any players that can score outside of TP then I guess that doesn't make Kent the great recruiter everybody says he is right? The anger surrounding this team is not because we all expect the Ducks to win the PAC-10 every year or make a tournament run every season, it is the inability to be consistently competitive. A 40 point loss to an average team is not being competitive. People like to say Few would not be a good choice because of his success is not as good as it looks because of the conference in which his team plays is not a major one . I guarantee you Gonzaga would have at the very least been competitive with Missouri but probably would have beat them even with this years so-called "down" team. Kent has the players to be competitive and have success particularly against this years schedule but his inability to have the right players on the court at the right time or motivate and inspire the players to get up for games is holding this team back. He has been a good coach but sometimes there comes a time for new blood and it appears that it is that time for Oregon!

HA... TP? TP was only successful when he had an NBA caliber point guard getting him open shots. This guy is NOT the answer. He is a role player at best. Quit trying to build him up into a difference maker when he is not.

Oh I'm finally starting to get it...You're just someone that talks trash about players and coaches but doesn't actually understand the game or the team...The picture's much more clear now.

I think PudgeJeff might actually be Ernie Kent.

That's not our job. It's our job to realize that the current coach isn't cutting it & let the university know that we don't support him. They are the ones who do the search & interview process. If fans were the ones who offered up the coaches for the University to look at as replacements then we'd be in huge trouble.

If I had a choice I would have gone after the young coach at VCU, Anthony Grant. VCU has a history of putting out successful coaches & he already had a ton of success at VCU. Bama snagged him last year though. IMO we need to go after a young up & coming guy. I don't want Few but at this point I'd rather have him than Kent.

My problem with Kent is that he really seems to be a lousy coach. He has had a lot more embarrassing losses than Few has. Few's record seems to indicate a coach that at least prepares his team. They win the games they should and remain competitive in the games that they lose (for the most part). Kent on the other hand, loses to teams that he shouldn't and gets blown out by good teams.

I for one think that Few would be a huge upgrade to Ernie Kent.

I don't think Few is the answer although he would still be a step up from Kent. I don't know who the answer is but I am sure there are a lot of young talented coaches out there that would really like the opportunity to coach at Oregon. Bellotti and the rest of the AD should start the evaluation process now in order to get a head start on going after some guys once the season ends.

I actually liked that coach too and if he had been chosen I would have still been upset because I don't think he's an upgrade, atleast it still wouldn't have been Few or an unproven assistant...My biggest thing is not only has Ernie brought in talent we've never had before he's also made sure each kid graduates which is a rarity in college sports, although it should be the most important part since it is called college sports...If you remember guys like Freddie and Aaron weren't anything but potential until they're senior years...Imagine if these young men blossom in the same way together.
