The season starts for real against Hawaii.

Ducks look sloppy, as expected, but they’ll clean things up over time. This team definitely has size and athleticism! But they weren’t getting the best rebounding position so hopefully Altman fixes that.

Team definitely looks like they've only been playing together a month. Their athleticism really helps them out defensively, especially with the extra length and athleticism they've added. Simpkins has looks more comfortable after the two exhibition games where he didn't do much. Pryor provided a nice spark alongside TK to close the half. Wei Lin has some potential but he's really raw.

Bad looking injury for Evans, hope he’s ok. That would be a brutal loss but also typical Oregon luck.

Bittle needs to sit on the bench for a while. He’s playing lazy and getting destroyed by Isaac Johnson.
Also these refs are atrocious and helping out Hawaii a ton.

Oregon just hasn't looked right since Evans got injured. Just way too sloppy on offense and they're letting up so many easy baskets/rebounds after doing so much better while building the 14-point lead.

This a joke game, right? Like at the end of it, they come out and say “just kidding”?
I get that, like every year, we’ve got a bunch of new guys learning how to play together, but does that include teaching free throws, not pushing people down, and feeding the post?
Feels like I’m watching high school game.

Altman and co never re-evaluate how they examine the transfer portal.

Oregon hasn’t hit a basket from more than 2 feet away from the hoop 16 minutes into the 2nd half.

Even if they win this one, this hasn't been a pretty game. Won't get any better until Shelstad is back.

Win or lose, I’m feeling very pessimistic about this season.
I know the guards look like they’ve never passed before, but Bittle gets pushed out of the paint so easily. It’s as if he expected Hawaii to be intimidated by his size and nobody is afraid of him. His positioning on both sides of the court was terrible all game long
Also I know this team lacks chemistry and are figuring out the offense by my gosh the standing around on offense is just pathetic, such little energy and movement.
Lack of chemistry doesn’t explain:
-Giving up 15 offensive rebounds
-Countless missed layups
-21 turnovers
-61.5% from the free throw line
-2/16 from 3
Just feels like we take the scraps from other teams and I’m not seeing our returning players develop.

Outside of Shelstad, Bittle, Simpkins, and Evans, where is ANY shooting coming from? And the aforementioned, not even sure I have faith in two of them. Shelstad will make a difference, but it better be big, or this will be an VERY average BIG 10 team.

The clock operator tonight should’ve been an indicator of the quality of this team.

TK Simpkins saves the day for Oregon. So much work to do for Altman to get this team ready for the rest of the season. Shelstad can't get back soon enough.
