Oregon has announced their full 2026 coaching staff just before spring practices start. Some notable changes/additions:
-Mike Cavanaugh has rejoined the OL room, as has former Oregon OL George Moore as a GA/analyst
-Former UNC star WR Ryan Switzer is now a GA/offensive analyst
-Jack Smith is the new TE after Mehringer's promotion
-Koa Ka'ai is the new QB coach after Stein left.
-They didn't add any new defensive coach to replace Lupoi so Araghi and Wadood will take on more responsibilities. Remains to be seen who they'll send out on the road recruiting since they're limited to 11 coaches with that job.
-Tony Tuioti's son Teivis is now a GA/defensive analyst
Ryan Switzer is a curiosity for me.. He was a real up and comer a couple years ago.
Always wonder how guys with his experience and resume end up as analysts.

Does any one know much about the new QB coach? All I could find online was he didn't play the position and started coaching the position two years ago. However, he was promoted from GA to assistant QB coach in his first season coaching the position and promoted from assistant QB coach to QB coach in his second season. Fingers crossed that he's a QB coaching prodigy.
Koa Ka'ai was recruited to Oregon as a DL but ended up playing TE most of his career. He's basically coached every offensive position group at Oregon as a GA/analyst/assistant position coach. Stein moved him into the QB room in 2024 so obviously he did well enough for Lanning to make him the new QB coach. You'll find that many QB coaches weren't high-level QBs or even played the position. One name that people may be overlooking is new assistant QB coach Jay Johnson. He's been a QB coach and OC at places like Kansas, Central Michigan, Louisiana, Minnesota, Colorado, Michigan State, and Wyoming. He crossed paths with Lanning at Georgia when he was an offensive quality control coach in 2018. He'll be a veteran coaching presence in the room to help out Ka'ai (sort of like how Oregon brought in Mike Cavanaugh to help out A'lique Terry.)
