Too Much Talent, Just one Ball???

I have a question to pose:
Do we now have too many playmakers? Isn't it reasonable to guess that some may be strained for more touches? Here's what I'm seeing:
TE: Dickson, Lewis, DaNerris - With as little action as Dickson got this year, I was disappointed for him with all his talent... However, Lewis and Ward are the REAL Deal as well.... How do we get them more touches when we have.....
RB: LGB, LMJ, all the rest + whoever we *may* pick up in this class.
WR: DrewD, Jmaehl, DionJ, JHolland + whoever we *may* pick up in this class.
And I haven't even mentioned where ever Harper ends up.... Oh and just one more thing:
Masoli/The Other Qb's who are supposedly all still in the hunt next year + whoever we *may* pick up in this class.
Every name I threw out, to me seems like a legit threat to OWN the opposition. All of them Playmakers. How do we spread the ball around enough without adding another quarter to the game?
Discuss!

You can never have "too much" talent. Two years ago is the perfect example of how injuries can happen at any time and you need another playmaker to take over. If the Ducks had Masoli or Thomas to take over when Dixon went down the Ducks may have struggled but would have had a better chance at winning those last three games, they didn't have a dual threat guy that was suited to the offense.

Exactly, look at USC! they have #1 prospects as their 3rd string players and they seem to be doin alright

They just have to know that they might not be an immediate impact on the team, especially the guys we "may" get. And you also have to factor in the guys who choose to go to the NFL. It's nice to know that if (God fobid) Masoli goes down, we have very capable and experienced players behind him who know the playbook like the backs of their hands. But what we have to get used to is that there are going to be a lot of injuries to key positions since we run a high-speed, high-powered offense that puts a major strain on all of our players. I have no problem having "too much talent," if somebody wants to go somewhere where they'll get more touches, good riddance, I don't want a TO on our team. I think we'll be dangerous next year, Rose Bowl bound in two, and a NC in three. I don't know about you guys, but I love it when the future is so bright you can't look directly into it.

that sounds like a problem I would love to have. I bet Kelly can figure something out and spread the ball around to make everyone happy.

Ask Florida if they have too much talent.

problem is we struggle little bit in passing game this season, our WR dropping ball. Dickson stats would be better if he didnt drop the ball and our qb made some bad passes.

Why you can never have too much talent..sometimes it is just frustrating to know that these studs are riding the bench when mistakes are made on the field. Its not a problem, more like a blessing, just glad i'm not a coach in this situation

I wasn't angling for the depth route.... Obviously that is a huge plus.... However, Oregon fans typically put the "hero stamp" on a selected few players every year... collectively we cheer that player and tout them for greatness. I guess what I am expecting is that with SO MANY great playmakers on the field at once, we may not be able to distinguish and acclaim "hero stamp" players like we used to with accolades of monstrous stats, but instead a heady play here and there....
Mind you, I'm not complaining about this, but when EVERYONE is a star it's pretty bright everywhere....
Any other thoughts?

I will say this, the players know that if they want to be an impact player they better well make the most of their chances or the QB or CK will go in a different direction. As far as RBs go the best ones play and the others get spot duty....and CH should get his own game plan 10-15 plays a game!
Man these are good problems to have!
GO DUCKS!!

For years Oregon was 1 or 2 injuries at most away from disaster... Now fans are worried that the team has too much depth?
Not bloody likely!
Bring 'em on!

When you have multiple playmakers it spreads the threat around and doesn't let the Defense cheat as much. You NEED multiple playmakers to succeed against an elite defense, ala the USC game this year where we didn't have a playmaking receiver or QB (masoli had not yet emerged).
I don't really agree with the OP's list of playmakers, looks more like a list of skill position players than playmakers. Half of these guys have barely seen the field so lets not get ahead of ourselves here.
List of established playmakers in my mind for next year: Masoli, LGB, Dickson, Tukuafu, Mathews, Byrd, Chung, Ward. That's only 3 on offense, somebody needs to step up. I'm not saying more won't emerge but your star rating means nothing until you prove it on the field (ahem, cameron colvin, cough).

Another good point to think about is that the speed we run our offense at will actually allow more plays to be run and more opportunities to be had by all of the players.
We have about as good a situation as any player could expect. Although I imagine our defense hates it at times
The post about USC is very true too. Every kid is looking for something different but many want to play for a winner and compete with the best. As long as we keep winning we will be able to get some of those kids regardless of our depth. The kids who want to come in and play as freshmen and who aren't interested if you have good depth at the position will look elsewhere, and some of them are great players, but I'll take the kid who comes in with the attitude that he's going to bust his butt to earn a spot or the kid who says, "I have no problem redshirting and maybe spending another year getting better and learning the system" like Darron Thomas was planning to do until the Boise St. game.
The bottom line is that the more we win the better we will be at getting good talent and convincing them to wait their turn.

Our offense is perfect for spreading the ball around to many playmakers and CK seems to be doing that quite well...

Except for utilizing Tight Ends. But i do agree that it is good for utilizing most talent

If they catch the ball when itis thrown their way, it's good for the tight end too.
When nobody is catching it, like earlier this season, it's not good for any receiver...
