Lattimore down to 4

Looks like his final 4 are Auburn, South Carolina, Penn State and Oregon. The good thing is that Oregon appears to be his last visit, so hopefully they make a big impression on him. Realistically, do we have any shot with him?

Sure we have a shot. He's already visited Auburn and Penn St. and didn't pull the trigger so he wasn't blown away. I'm sure if it was his life long dream to be a Gamecock he would have committed to them already so it would seem he hasn't found that perfect fit yet. Hopefully CK and Campbell can sell him on the big back role in a high flying offense that is designed to showcase the skills he would bring from day one.

of course we do - we're in his final four and he's visiting. He has gone out of his way to interact with Duck fans in the past (involved in a chat session here at one point), put off the visit until the offseason so that the entire family could make the trip out here, and has a great head on his shoulders. I don't think we could be labeled the favorites by any stretch, but we are without a doubt in the race.

Alway good to have that last visit as long as he actually makes it out here. Seems like our chances are better with Lache than Latt right now. Maybe because Lache actually visited & was obviously blown away. Hope we can get one of 'em, prefferabley Lache for me.

Oregon gets talented Running Backs in the NFL, and we have one of the top O-line coordinators in the country plowing their way there. As long as that's the case, we should have a shot with any back in the country. I would be disappointed to not land either Lattimore or Seastrunk.

You have to think that having a few Oregon guys playing for the Panthers is probably helping us out there in the Carolinas...especially the way Snoops been playing

I am of the opinion that Oregon has as good a chance as any of those Teams...so long as distance doesn't become a factor. Recruits come out to Oregon and are blown away by our facilities, but then the great distance family has to travel plays a role in a recruit's final decision.
If we get either Lattimore or Seastrunk, I'd be pumped. But let's not forget we have Donate Williams coming to Oregon...and both LaMike and Kenjon will be even better than they were in 2009! The future looks bright for our backfield!
Any body think that Kenjon Barner could develop into a better RB than LaMichael James?

I think he could end up being just as good as LaJames. If you ask people close to the team they will tell you Barner actually has more ability than LaJames but just is so raw. LaJames is just much farther along & much more polished than Barner at the RB position. Give him time, Barner will be an amazing RB.

With what's left in recruiting this year, are the coaches still thinking of taking 3 RBs or are they going to settle for 2? We haven't heard anything in awhile and was wondering if the plan had changed.

3 seems like a bit of a long shot at this point unless we pull in a few "sleepers" at the last minute.

Unless it's a special player like Seastrunk or Lattimore, I imagine the Ducks could be satisfied with the current commit of Dontae Williams. If both those players want to commit, I believe the Ducks would welcome them with open arms.
Losing Grant was a shot to the gut, but there is so much speed in the current backfield, he may never be missed.
Is 2011 recruit Tyson Coleman going to stay at RB, or are the Ducks considering him for other things?

I thought Coleman was recruited as a Safety.... Not sure why I thought that though.

At 6'2, he certainly has the size to develop into a safety, or possibly even a LB.
