Is coach Azz a good recruiter?

With the current lack of DT's and the uncertainty with the DL recruits remaining on our list, does anyone know who coach Azz is even recruiting?

So far, the only commit that he is listed as the recruiter of is Remmington. Now, Remmington looks like a solid recruit but he is a JC guy. He is also listed as King's recruiter. Now with the the rumors of Cal leading for King, this doesn't bode well. I can't find anyone else that he is listed as recruiting.

Does anyone know if he is much of a recruiter or does he leave that to the rest of the staff?

And no, I am not trying to stir anything up here. Just wondering.

Cal's d-line coach sounds like a helluva recruiter. You hear a lot of defensive line players talk about what a great guy he is. That's what worries me about King. Every interview about Cal he brings up what great guy their D-line coach is.

I believe Coach Azz is a great coach but don't know about his communication skills.

The fact that he isn't in it for the money makes me wonder if he isn't in it for the recruiting either. Maybe he just loves the coaching aspect?

Too early to tell with Azzinaro IMO. Cal's Dline coach is in like his 20s & can easily relate to the recruits. Thats really the only reason he is a "good" recruiter. Give Azzinaro some time where hes producing great Dlineman & I think we'll tart to see Dline recruits looking our way. He does have the development of Dwight Freeney as recruiting ammo too.

Another thing to remember is this year Dline class on the west coast was really weak. There wasn't a whole lot of guys to go after.

Azz also is coming from programs like Syracuse and Marshall. Not exactly the greatest programs in the world. Give him some time to see what he can do then evaluate him as a recruiter. He gave us a real good shot at Easly before Florida threw a monky wrench in the whole situation.

Pretty sure Easley doesn't visit us if it wasn't for Azz.

I'm kinda sick of people singling coaches out as bad recruiters. We have nowhere near enough information to make that kind of judgement. Who knows how good of a recruiter Azz is. We should stop looking at who Rivals list as the player's recruiter (which isn't always right) and trying to judge a person just based on that.

Will you make us a list of what is acceptable to ask on a form about recruiting?

Like I said, I am not calling the guy out. I am just curious if he is much of a recruiter. He doesn't seem to have fingerprints on many recruits out there.

Lighten up Francis.

I'm not really getting on you since you were asking a question, not making a claim. if you had said Azz sucks like that kid the other day that said Kelly can't close, then my post would've been directed at you.

Francis?

Regardless of his communication skills Azz should just have Dwight Freeny recruit for him...I think that would work.
