DT Justin Thompson 6'5" 280 from Torrance (CA) El Camino C.C. who signed with Oregon last year but had to finish two classes. Has signed with the Memphis Tigers these year. Thompson was a four star and ranked the 6 best Juco player in the nation last year by rivals.

We were 2 classes away from having our starting DT for this upcoming season...

the problem with getting JUCO guys in school is nuts

Arkansas, Memphis, Texas Tech??? Either Oregon needs to make sure these guys have the grades, test scores and classes needed to qualify before they offer or not go after JUCO guys that are on the fence anymore, because they waste so much time going after these guys they are potentially missing out on other quality guys and then end up with nobody or scramble at the end just to get a guy and end up with a 1-2* guy. Terrible recruiting practice, losing 4 guys (Leon, Wade, Thompson, Fili) because the coaching staff was not 100% certain the players academics were in order to qualify It seems like the coaches are so high on getting a 4-5* guy they pull the trigger and just hope the guys qualify, meanwhile like I said they potentially miss out on someone else.

Yeah, all of this JC stuff is really annoying. Let's just hope things improve ASAP.

Apparently the state of Oregon was at least partially responsible for this one... They unilaterally tightened up the entrance standards a year ahead of the rest of the PAC 10.

Wounded, if that is the case, then I wish the best for all the kids that got robbed by following their advisers.

I remember when I was visiting a friend that went to El Camino JC over the summer, I saw him walk by wearing Ducks BBall shorts... *tear*

I hate that he couldn't get into school here, but I'm glad he'll still get a chance to play. Good luck to him!
