"Boyd has committed to Clemson. He said he made up his mind 10 minutes ago."

Pretty sad that he said for was 50-50 Oregon or Ohio State before the Army AA game, when Bryce McNeal told him to go to Clemson.

That's fine. He'll know what he is missing when Darron Thomas wins a Heisman.

Actually, I think we are good at QB. Masoli's got a grip on this Offense and i think D.Thomas will be a stud when its his time! Its Bryce Brown who i really want, but i think we learned NOT to get out hopes up east coast 5*, atleast i have!!

I am going to laugh my a$$ when Masoli or Thomas or both are Heisman contenders and when the Ducks play in BCS games maybe even a NC and Clemson continues to be overhyped and lose 4-5 games every year. Then the kid will wish he detached himself from his moms breasts  and put his big girl panties on and went to Oregon. I am tired of these grown men being scared to be too far from home. I thought that was what going away to college was all about, getting away from mom and dad.

We are already set at QB for the next four years. Masoli definately established himself in the last 4 games of this season and will be our started for the next 2. Then, assuming he redshirts this year, Thomas will take over and be the QB for the following two. Boyd was a luxury more than a necessity and his arrival meant that either him or Thomas probably wouldn't have been around to see their senior season.

THe only drawback is getting a stud QB in 2010 will now be a huge priority.

I agree, Clemson is in a rebuilding mode ( except their RB, who is coming back for his senior year ), but by no means are they even in any kind of contention for a bigger bowl for atleast 2-3 years AND correct me if i am wrong, but Clemson does'nt even run a spread offense (Oregon's " O " was taylormade for Boyd's game & skills ). Oh well, this will be my last comment on Boyd, but i think OREGON has a chance to win the Pac-10 next year. Our schedule is awsome, we take care of business at Boise St. and ride that momentum and then we get USC at home!!!! I actually think Oregon St. will be a tougher game next year.

I think that 1 of our shots at Brown was with Boyd. With Boyd to Clemson, I think that our chances are greatly diminished. Our only shot now is if Brown wants to play more with Harper than with his brother. I think that playing with his brother and his family moving down to Miami will win out in the end. I still feel like Oregon should have been recruiting other RBs as back-up plans. Right now, there doesn't seem to be any other highly-ranked RB that is interested in Oregon. Oregon will definitely need to lock up at least 2 RBs next year to replenish the depth chart.

When Jhop broke the news Boyd took on many names other than tahj! But after i went back to my daily life and had a few minutes to think it through...I'm not entirely upset. Yes of course we all wanted him plus the circus the last few weeks add to the desire to sign the kid. Its been said before that QB isnt a position of need at the moment but definitely would have helped us in recruiting for this season and seasons to come. So i think the greed factor was in play when wanting boyd. And now atleast we wont have to wonder who to root for after masoli is gone. We'll all just embrace DT like we should. I wish for the most success that a 4-5 loss program can provide for boyd. Oh and GO DUCKS!

Quack, I agree with your post. I wish Mr. Boyd all the success he can find at Clemson unless it effects us. We have lost focus on what we have waiting in the wings. I believe if you look at what Chip did with Dixon and then Roper in the Bowl game when Dixon got hurt, and then more recently with Masoli this year it sets up real well for Mr. Thomas to be a huge player in our system. We have a two headed monster at QB and who knows how Costa comes back. It would have been nice to get Boyd but really not a concern. He may have never seen the field with us.......... Doubtful I know but you never know. I believe it was his loss and not ours.

I think most people wanted Boyd because, after DT takes over, we don't have anyone else to take over if he gets hurt. With our current QBs, they all seem to be injury-prone in this offense. We need to have QBs for the future on this team so they can learn the system and be able to compete by at least their RS FR year since you never know when you're going to need them. In 2 years, DT will be the only QB with any game experience (except for Harper, who'll be at WR.) The coaches do need to find a QB that actually wants to come to Oregon.

everyone seems to forget about justin roper, who if i am not mistaken is undefeated as a starting quarterback. I really think this is not that big of a loss, considering roper will be our third string quarterback. Masoli is looking pretty legit right now and Thomas is the future dennis dixon. He is the real deal. Be PATIENT, there is still a couple of weeks to go in recruiting, plenty of talent left in this class and if we dont fill our allotment of scholly players, then we can have an even bigger class next year, which from what i have heard is deeper than this class. By the way, GO DUCKS!
