Sheldon Dennis. JUCO'ed at Compton originaly from Florida. I dont know anything about his academics or anything else for that matter. Maybe there is someone out there who does, but his highlight tape looks a little like a poormans version of LGB.

Only reason I pointed this out was because I read somewhere that the staff wanted to add another 200+ pound running back to this class. With Hardy and Marshal commited elsewhere and no one knowing what Brown is going to do this could be an option. Not every great player has to have a ton of offers.

With his size, 4.4 speed is pretty incredible.

I would be happy if the staff offered him, I think our RB Coach is one of the best out there, look what he did with Johnson, Stewart, and LGB? I'm sure he could work with this kid and make him a solid contributer.

With a miss on Brown I don't see why not offer this kid. Shirt him his first year and after Blount leaves he will have two years to play. Then after his two year it will be time for LMJ, Grant, and possibly one of the bigger name 2010 recruits we potentially could get to take over and keep Oregon's running game going...

Because I think there are probably several recruits we could get in 2010 that are better than him and could probably play right away.

Not sure what to make of Dennis... He committed to Akron out of HS. At that time, i=the only D-1 schools on his list were Florida and Miami, neither of whom offered.

ESPN gave him a grade of 40 out of HS... C.J. Spiller, who plays for Clemson, had a rating of 84. Bryce Brown is an 88.

Does this mean Dennis has no potential? Obviously no. It would be interesting to know how he truly ranks at the JC level, and if he, unlike several other JC players of recent note, could qualify to enter Oregon.

In 10 games this season, Dennis had 343 yards, and 8 TD... approximately a 5.4 YPC average. Carries were split between 4 main players: Shomarie Grant (5.6 YPC/3TDs/49.4 YPG); Dennis (34.3 YPG, long of 47 yards); A.J. Simeon (5.1 YPC/4 TDs/30.3 YPG); The 4th was QB Jeremy Edwards (4 YPC/1 TD/18.7 YPG).

Dennis also caught 16 passes for 11 yards, and 1 TD. His long reception was 61 yards.

He returned 2 punts for a 12.5 yard average, and 2 kicks, for a 12.0 yard average.

His 9 TDs on the season lead his team.

Im thinking he must of had academic issues in HS. Not mind blowing numbers in JC but he is a big back that had to split carries. If the coaching staff feel like the need a big back he could be an option. Thanks for the stats on him Wounded. I wonder if he is a 3 for 2 or a 2 for 2 guy.

He came out of HS in 06, so he should be a 3/2 guy, I think.

He is also quite a bit bigger and faster than then, apparently.

He graduated at 206 pounds, with a 4.7/40. Now he is listed at 235 lbs, with a 4.4/40. That's quite a change.

He looked pretty good...broke a lot of tackles but i sure wasn't seeing anything that looked like 4.4 speed...we don't know what kinda talent he was playing against though...he could be a lot more or less impressive depending...I think the fact that his schools of interest are oregon, oregon st., and ASU means that we've all shown interest in him since he's at a juco in FLA so maybe he's the back-up plan to BB.

I originally only saw his HS stats and offers above...he does look pretty good (size and speed wise) but again look at his offers that tells you his true value. If he's willing to come in and be athlete type recruit to fill our class he might work out or be a great ST guy!

Interesting recruit but why does if not have offers...grades? Something is up...

GO DUCKS!!
