This excerpt courtesy of Greg Biggins talking about Randall Carroll and his USC recruitment.
"We had a game day experience where the coaches showed us what it would be like if we were actually a part of the team and that was cool. We toured the campus and Coach (Pete) Carroll pulled me aside and told me that I could be a future first-round draft pick if I went there and I know he doesn't tell everyone that. I even asked some of the other recruits about that and that didn't happen, so it made me feel kind of special.

here's my favorite quote aside from yours...
"I also sat in on some position meeting and they had me talk with both the defensive back and wide receiver coaches. They want me to play corner but also said they have some packages for me on offense and said I would have the opportunity to play both ways and I'm very interested in that as well. Overall, it was just a great visit and cleared up a lot of things for me."
Translation: we know you want to be a WR in College so we dangle the CHANCE to play both ways for you but you will be a CB and nothing more at SC!
Classic PC move right there...don't do it Randle Petey pulling a fast one on you!

I should note that this thread was started and the title is oozing with volumes of sarcasm, I do not wish for CK to stoops to PC's level with recruits. I prefer the straigh up approach. ONCE again, being sarcastic:

Whats funny about that is it is specifically a recruiting violation. Fbomb gets praise for it, Sark gets in trouble for it.
http://www.miamiherald.com/sports/colle ... 66138.html
SEATTLE -- Washington has committed a minor recruiting violation and intends to report itself to the Pac-10.
School spokesman Richard Kilwien confirmed Wednesday that the school will report a secondary violation to the Pac-10 after it was determined new coach Steve Sarkisian and his staff violated an NCAA rule regarding game-day simulations while recruits are on campus.
The violation came to light after Desmond Trufant, who has verbally committed to the Huskies, described to Dawgman.com a simulated game-day entrance during his on-campus visit last weekend. An NCAA bylaw prohibits prospects from participating in any type of "game-day simulations" during a visit, but the violation is considered minor.

Does somebody need to send a link to the story directly to the NCAA or something?

Thats what I was thinking...What needs to be done for them to see this or atleast get an answer to why it's different and not a violation if indeed it is not.

Petey does it and that is why Sark thought it was OK to do it. Imagine if it were not a violation though, that would be a great recruiting tool for the Ducks !!!!

I know we used to do the same thing, bring guys into the stadium with the announcer and show them on the jumbo tron. my guess is petey went through the walkthrough and everything in the locker room then brought him out onto the field while sark did what we used to do or something similar. not sure what the exact rules are, but petey hasnt got caught yet cough reggie bush.

Speaking of violations, why does USC always seem to get a pass? I love how all of a sudden, the Reggie Bush stuff isn't even being discussed anymore.
