Sim managed to get whooped by a walk on in practice and now has stitches in his dome:

Maybe Elorriaga made a comment about Sim shooting a team worst 37% from the floor. Elorriaga shoots 100% from the floor and probably wanted his scholarship. Also, good to see Humphrey getting kicked out of practice. Gotta love that team chemistry. I hope we continue to grow and fight through this adversity.

Sim has really been a disappointment. Maybe he will be better as a junior or senior, but Armstead has already been far superior of a point guard.

This team just needs to FIGHT through all the adversity they are facing.

The team is going to miss the post season for the second straight year, players are fighting in practice (Sim with a frickin walk on of all people), players are getting kicked out of practice (Humphrey), players are getting suspended for grades (Longmire and Williams), some players (Longmire) are are calling out other players on the team for quitting and not hustling, at least one player (Humphrey) has come out and said he is unhappy with the situation in Eugene and I suspect he will probably transfer after this season. I know there are others that feel the same way.

So where is my crow? You are right! Things look like they are really coming together.
Yeah I know we won two games, but do you really think this team has the ability to go 6-3 on the back half to scrape out an NIT bid? I wouldnt bet my house on it if I were you.

Where do you get the idea that Humphrey wants to transfer? Any recent quotes (i.e. since he returned from his injury)?

Uh, obviously they have given up - or they are really just very bad. What did they end up with? 42 today against the last place team in possibly the worst conference in the nation? This is getting to be such an embarrassment.

Look, I really hate even bringing this up, (but it is insightful to what is being said here) without giving the name and it feels a little dirty because he would never admit to this in public, so I am not really sure I should, but I will anyway and just last week everyone was up in arms when someone said, a friend of a friend told me that...regarding the Masoli issue, but truly, a former standout/beloved Duck b-ball player told my brother and I that he wished he had not chosen Oregon because in his opinion, Ernie never fully controlled his teams - and this particular player hated practices because if it. Players jawing all the time at each-other instead of really trying to improve/not really listening - doing their own thing. Lots of wispers of snide comments during coaching sessions...etc. The inmates were running the asylum senerio and he mentioned something to the effect that Ernie allowed a lot of "street" mentality to go on. Maybe that type of coaching works with some of Ernie's squads? I suspect his other squads need much more direction and focus that he offers and that is why we see such yo-yo success. This player also mentioned he is surprised that Coach Kent is still around. Perhaps the most recent fight is just more of the same. By the way, fighting is not necessarily a good indication of a team working hard. It might simply be that ego's go a little too unchecked. I can't say either way in this case, but I bet if you fought under Coach K's watch, it would feel like that old "wait till your father comes home" feeling.

UofDuck beat me to the punch. A fight during practice does not mean spirits are high and the competition is good. 98% of the time it's exactly the opposite.

practice fights mean one of 3 things and only 2 apply in college
1. One guy has a gambling debt to another guy and punches are thrown after the guy who is owed money confronts the man in debt (only happens in the nba since college players are broke and also aren't allowed to gamble)
2.two hyper competitive guys get locked up in the heat of the moment and an altercation ensues
3.The team has poor chemistry and the players don't quite fancy each other and a fight breaks out spawned by players being tired of each others s***.

I'm leaning toward option 2 for this particular scuffle.
