I have been a big EK detractor but in all honesty, I feel bad for the guy. He's done great things for our program & thats what he'll be remembered for. Thanks Ernie.

Needed to be done.. Honestly, the new basketball stadium (to me) is what makes this an easy choice. We have a chance to start new, and I like the sound of that.

Having Kent lead the way in our new arena would have been a mistake.

And as Ernie walks from the floor of Mac Court for the last time, Some dude on the floor is holding up a sign that says... "CANZANO SUCKS!"

It was also reported that his WHOLE staff will be replaced, with the possible exception of Kenny Payne.

Fine by me. Time to hit the restart button.

Now, who will be our new head coach? When will we get a new coach? Will players leave because of this?

Gonna get a bit interesting..

Belloti may have actively been pursuing a replacement for several weeks, at this point.

Be interesting to see who is on his mind.

Very hard to feel sorry for coach Kent. He could have done SO many things differently to avoid this siuation.

Does anyone believe for a minute that Few honestly views the UO job as a step down. Really? I don't see any donors in Spokane stepping up and giving his progam

100 mill, and Gonzaga isn't reeling in any top 15 recruiting classes. I'm also sure whoever they hire has looked at the talent that is on hand and realizes that he

could coach this team to 20 wins next year .

But also wanted to just say thank you EK for taking over a program that Coach Greene had started getting going in the right direction, and taking to the next level. You'll always be a duck.

I hope we don't go hard after Few. He turned us down last year and hasn't taken his teams past the sweet 16, something Ernie has done. I do think he is a good coach but I hope we can try and bring in a big name with the new arena coming in and some deep pockets.

I like Ernie and I am thankful for what he has done for the program. The job that he has done with graduating players is especially commendable. When I was a student at UO, Ernie was always very supportive of the Pit Crew (which has really gone down hill in the past few years) and very friendly with students.

Still it was time to move on. Best of luck to Ernie. Maybe he'll get the Depaul job.

It is time for Kent to go. He's taken this program as far he can take it. I almost feel bad that he won't be coaching in the new arena that he partially helped to get going, but he had enough chances to be a consistent winner and hasn't done it.
