Based on what, Ernie Kent's vote?
This should definitely get a laugh from all duck fans.

The award was for MVP of this season. Porter was one of the least valuable. If I had to give it to anyone, it probably would have been to Jacob or maybe even Armstead. Definitely not Porter though.duckz wrote:It's easily Porter.
Don't blame him b/c Kent didn't find another PG.
Do you remember all those times Sim penetrated and kicked it out to the shooting guard. The fact is, Porter was the best 2 guard by far, and unfortunately has also been the 2nd best PG since AB left.
Porter is a SG and may set the P10 ALL TIME record for 3s.
He has won a P10 MVP as a freshman with Leunen, Hairston, Taylor, Brooks on the same squad.
He was a large reason we made it to the Elite 8.
Do we have a lot of players in Oregon's history with these accomplishments ?

If it's an MVP on the team in a down year where nobody particularly shined so be it. I think it's a nice gesture and I don't feel like anyone necessarily got robbed as they were all fairly inconsistent. A nice reward for the effort he put in for the school over 4 years.
Ya I felt bad for him. He started in an offense that suited his skills his freshman year and then the whole program fell down around him when everyone graduated.dthomas=ddixon wrote:Why is it so funny? TP deserves MVP just for all the undeserved blame & flack he takes. He was forced to bring the ball up & create his own shot (Hes only FIVE FREAKING SIX remember?) in an offense that was non existent. I feel bad for the kid. Had to spend 3 years as the scape goat for a coach that couldn't coach his way out of a wet paper back.

I just would get frustrated when he'd force up 10 threes a game and only hit one when there may or may not have been better options. He may set the record for threes but he has to have the record for misses.
That said, I agree with TK in that nobody really deserved it. I mean TP got benched what, 2 or 3 times this yr. I feel that Armstead or Dunigan if he could've been more consistant were def the MVP's this yr.
