Tajuan Porter really helped us a lot in one of our greatest runs to the Elite 8. One of the best performances for a freshman. He didn't live up to the hype from then on, but I wanted to show some respect to the little guy for always competing. He took a lot of shots, but he made a lot of them too. The best shooter in Oregon history. The best 3 point shooter in the Pac-10!

For being 5'6", he was a helluva scorer. I think he took a lot of shots mainly because no one else was capable or willing to shoulder the scoring load, except for Jacob late in the year. The offense will look different without him there.

TP doesn't deserve nearly as much of the flack that he catches. He had one of the best 3 point strokes we'll ever see here at Oregon. If he had a coach that could actually recognize that & put him in position to get open shots instead of forcing him to be the PG simply because hes short, he woulda been a much bigger weapon than he was. I just feel bad for the guy. Like a lot of players under Kent, he seemed to get progressively worse each year.

Right on, except for the best shooter in Oregon history part.

Amazing what a coach who knows what to do with his player's best attributes can accomplish, isn't it?

Too bad so much talent has been misused around here over the last few years.

He was an amazing role player, but struggled when he became the man. I put that on Ernie, a 5-6 player should never be your best player.

I think the only reason he did so well his FR year was that he wasn't the main scorer and only got the ball because teams were so focused on stopping AB, Taylor, Hairston, and Leunen. He was the fifth option which allowed him to get so many open shots. Once he had to start creating his own shots, that is when the team really struggled.

TP's freshman season, he was able to spot up and shoot, instead of being what everyone knew was the focal point of the offense.

I will say this. Given that the team was pretty bad in 3 of the 4 years he was here, it's pretty amazing that TP could break the all time 3 point record in the pac-10. It's just a shame, because he could have been better with the right coaching and players around him.

I will miss his free throws...

TP was a very special player when it came to post season play. He would play out of his mind in the Pac10 tournaments and NCAA tournemanets. Glad he broke the 3 point record, he certainly deserved it lol.

was really nice knowing that when he went to the line, we were most likely getting points...though he did have one bad year

I have felt that the poor overall performance of the team, and the streakiness of TP's shooting were directly linked to one thing... The way the players were utilized by the Man From Armani.

For the most part, it looks as if the talent has been there. The understanding of how to train it up and put it in a position to produce some form of cohesive motion, wasn't.
