Hopefully that works. If not, check out ducksportnews for the link. Cole came on strong at the end of the season.

So it has been Nick Cole and Wade Keliikipi in the last 4 hours or so. Safe to say that Bellotti and Kelly don't rely on Scout and Rivals to find players.

Wow, the coaches are just pulling players from out of nowhere. We hadn't heard anything regarding Cole, Keliikipi, or Hawkins. We hadn't heard from Lane in the past year since everyone thought he was just a baseball player. The coaches are up to something right now but we'll just have to wait to find out on NLOI day. With all of these commits, we now have 24 recruits and possibly more. This class now has 3 WRs and possibly more, a possible QB, and 2 HS DTs; it seems like the coaches were able to fill the needs on the team in this class. I just have a feeling though that one or two of these 1 and 2* recruits will great additions and the rest will not pan out like several other reaches the coaching staff has made in the past (i.e. Levi Horn, John Laidet, Ellis Krout.)

You know the ol' line: throw mud against the wall and see what sticks. Does that resonate with anyone here???

Cole looks good on the highlight tape. He's got good speed and great height/weight.

Nice youtube highlights. This kid looks like he has a good stride. I hope he has good hands.

Here you go...

http://www.maxpreps.com/california/foot ... cal,player

46 receptions/990 Yards/21.52 YPC/Long 82 yards/12 TDs

Also rushed the ball 4 times, for 64 yards (16.0 YPC), with a long of 20 yards.

On defense:

53 tackles/14 assists (67 total)/3 INTs

Special Teams:

5 PR/33 yards (6.6 YPR/Long of 12

12 KR/319 yards (26.58 YPR)/Long of 37 yards

BTW, his HS apparently played a passing version of the spread.

Cole was first team All-League WR for 2008 in the Contra Costa Times

Most likely it means Oregon whiffed on Jackson and Gaines. Same story as last year with Krout.

His highlights and the way he runs reminds me allot of Maehl.

I think it says more about losing DJ more than Gaines considering he's a JC guy and can help now! Thats what I'm guessing but I have been way off this recruiting cycle...

GO DUCKS!!

Why do you guys think that by getting Cole, we are out of it for Gaines and DJ?

It's been said that our goal was to land about 5 WRs for this class..

So far we have 3. And there's talk that Tuinei might have problems getting in. And there's a chance Lane plays baseball.

We might be left with 1 WR from this class. We might be 4 WRs short of our goal if you guys think we are done and have missed out on DJ and Gaines.

We had better hope that we get DJ and Gaines. We have right now only 6 scholarship WRs (don't really count Cavaille since he's more of a ST and junk time player) on the team. Cantu coming in makes 7. The only WR in this class you can count on coming in seems to be Cole and he may be a project that needs to be RS. Lane seems more likely to play pro baseball than he is to play football and Tuinei may have problems getting in. I'll hedge my bets that Tuinei gets in so that makes only 9 WR. That is not enough to field a complete depth chart.
