If you were a lightly recruited, yet talented player, and the most exciting team in the nation for your specialty wanted you as their backup plan, how would you answer?

Jump at the offer. Hawkins has actually been on the coaches radar for some time, they just didn't want to have to fight with teams for his service so held off of offering till late in the game. They tried to do the same with Tuinei but work got out that he had committed and it sounds like they weren't to thrilled with that.
