Free article about Bellotti introducing this year's recruiting class. I didn't see it posted yet, though I might have missed it, if so I apologize.

Good article. Hopefully Tunei and Gaines qualify. If I had to assign a grade to this class, I would probably give it a very solid B.

One player Bellotti could not discuss was Bryce Brown, the nation’s No. 1 player, which Oregon is a finalist for his services. A source very close to Ducks described Brown as the “very best player” he’s seen and was sure Brown will win the Heisman Trophy regardless of where he goes. Besides Oregon, Tennessee, USC and Miami are the finalist in Brown’s recruitment.

Thats just funny to me. A source close to the Oregon program...lol....or maybe someone within eDuck.

if he is going somewhere else and plans on winning the heisman,he better do it as a freshman cause ethan grant has it locked up for the next four years at oregon lol....(thats right i said LOCKED UP!!)

whats the earliest eathan grant and C. White can send in LOI's for next year? Did'nt Matt Barkley give the Trojans an LOI during his senior year?

ya, they cant actually send in there loi until feb 4th,i know its a long time from now and a lot can change, but grant really seems high on oregon..

I wouldn't say that he will definitely be a duck, but to come out to Oregon on their own dime and commit really says something.

His uncle says there is zero chance that he will do anything but be a DUCK. He says the kid knows the meaning of the word commitment.

Not sure if I'm looking into it too much. But the statement that said Bellotti was meeting with DF and PK to discuss all the duties and responsibilities of the AD seemed odd to me. I was, and still may be, pretty sure that MB was going to step down sometime after recruiting. Now I'm not so sure. I, for one, want him to coach for 1 more year....but had been hearing and seeing the signs point otherwise. Like I said, maybe I'm reading way too between the lines.

I think the MB writing has been on the wall for quite some time. As soon as it was made known that assistant coaches were not being retained becuase Chip didnt want them on his watch, the deal was exposed.

I think MB's level of involvement with recruiting over the last few months, was a sign. Did anyone even mention MB over the last two months? Maybe once.
How does the "head coach" not do any recruiting and expect to coach them next year.

MB was out on the road recruiting all of these guys. Just because you didn't hear his name doesn't mean he wasn't out recruiting. You really think he was just sitting in his office counting down the days? Chip is mentioned more because he is allowed to visit kids whenever he wants without breaking NCAA rules.

And Ethan and Curtis can enroll as early as winter term next year, if they were to graduate early. It doesn't happen often, but Jordan Carey and Durocher were able to do it in the past.

I know better than to think that Bellotti was not just sitting in his office talking to Chip on his cell while he was making all the in-homes and telling him about how well he golfed the day before.
However it sounded from several recruits as though MB was a lesser role and already warning kids I may not be here. Which is true and the right thing to do. But to me with the new assistants coming in and that factor of recruiting, it sure seems like he may be stepping down soon.
NOW THAT SAID, I honestly LOVE MB and what he has done and personally I would like to see him back for one or two more years, but I doubt that happens.
