I definitely wouldn't mind having him as a guest coach. He's proven himself a winner at the pro level and maybe that could translate in the college ranks. I think he would be impressed by Chip Kelly and his knowledge of the spread. I don't know how old Gruden's son is but it couldn't hurt to get a former pro coach's son since it would possibly bring some more national press to the program.

That would be nice to have him as a guest coach, he could create some attention and do some other good things for the Ducks!

Picture this:

Kids next year come on official visits and watch film and go through practices with Chip and Gruden. That would be a real big deal to a lot of kids IMO. The guy is one of the most recognizeable coaches out there.

They should have a deal where each recruit gets a glare from Gruden just to say that they've had one :x

That speaks volumes about the spread. It's smart to get to know that offense inside & out because eventually I see the NFL needing to transition to at least a hybrid of the spread. It makes the game so much more exciting & the NFL needs to be freshened up. I could go into a whole diatribe of how the change is already taking place, but I'll save it. Of course, this is just my opinion & I'll probably get slammed again for it.

I don't really watch NFL games anymore since they tend to be very boring. The offenses are almost identical since every coach hired since like the early 90s has worked for a coach running the west coast offense. Offenses are very predictable and after a while every game seems to look the same. The only differences between the top teams and the bottom teams seem to be the defense. If you have a good D, you'll go very far. I think that more coaches should implement spread offense sets and plays to add more variety and the offense could work since you have the athletes to run it. The only matter would be how to run the ball without an option read, which is the main running play in the spread. I think a modified formation, similar to the pistol formation, could help remedy the running problem.

Gruden (or Chucky) is great and I hope, if he's serious, that the coaches take him up on it! He would be terrific to have as a guest coach and helping out! Great marketing piece...

GO DUCKS!!

I think it was in reference to the camp, not being a paid coach on the team.

Just the mention of Oregon, by Gruden, in a Florida paper is a very good thing.

Hearing a coach like Gruden talk about our offense in a Florida paper sure can't hurt with all the recruits in the area that are looking at us! That would be awesome to have him as a coach at the summer camps...

Pretty neat stuff.

5-10 years ago, you'd never hear someone like Gruden take about Oregon the way he is. Really proves how far we've come. I'm loving Oregon football right now. :D
