X Box 360

Post by ducksin2010 »

My x box had a bad day today and is flashing the 3 red lights. Who knows what to do or has gone through this process? I can't find the receipt because I bought it 18 months ago.

Well first call Microsoft and see if it's still under warranty...They extended it for the 3 red lights so it might still be at the 18 months...If it's not go google the towel method for fixing the 3 red lights...those will walk you through it...Most of the time the 3 red lights come on from a cracked solder point so you wrap it in towels and turn it on which heats it up to the point where it re-solders it self...I've had 4 friends get the 3 red lights and this worked 3 of the 4 times...Good Luck and hopefully it's just still under warranty.

What you have is called the red ring of death. It's the 360's biggest problem and it sucks, I speak from experience. The ONLY way to fix it is to send it in, unless you know someone who's very handy with xboxs. The info to get it shipped is in that article

Ya I'm pretty sure they will, unless you scratched off the serial number or something...

Good call. Unless you really know what you're doing, it's not worth trying anything and then ruining the warranty.
